Eh, Red Sand is legal on Ilium, you just need a liscense. All that guy did is smuggle a legal substance without a permit, it's not like he was trafficking slaves or anything.

Oh wait, those are legal too...

It's like in R/L You -can- smuggle tabaco if you buy it in a (neighbor) nation with low taxes and "import" it into a nation with high taxes - without paying duty for it.

Same on Illium. The Volus wanted to save duty and smuggled Red Sand without a permission. That permission / license is expensive ... and since they hadn't one, their doing wasn't legal.

Engineering certain deaths and in certain combinations can be  tricky too... sort of.

For me... I don't want to see Tali die (not out of attachment, it's just I have no explicit desire for her death) however I kind of want her to help or hinder the Quarian/Geth crisis then let her get herself killed.

I suppose I would like to help Zaeed kill Vido since I kind of cost him his revenge last time.

I'm actually amazed you guys thought I was serious. I mean, I thought I was pretty clearly staying in line with the levity of the quote chain. Add to that my direct quote of Matriarch Aethyta and my poorly chosen illustration and I thought I was pretty clear.

Oh well, I'll have to try harder in the future.
