I guess the lack of confirmation confirms that the intro in the demo is

players of the demo, professional reviewers - everyone has said the same thing: "the intro feels rushed and confusing."
i fail to believe that BioWare wouldn't catch how poorly paced the intro is. i just can't bring myself to believe it - but the leaked demo AND the official demo all start at the same place - and no dev confirmation of a trial (or anything) before the demo start point leaves us with only one conclusion:
where the demo starts is where the game starts. good luck to new players because they are gonna be so confused, and a wasted opportunity for import-players to refresh their choices.

Seriously...just like ME2, it holds your hand and explains basic game mechanics while showing an impressive intro story.

If somebody gets confused by the intro, then they are too young/dumb to play video games anyway.

But I didn't think that was a particularly bad thing, and I'm satisfied with the opening should those things get explained down the line in the game proper.

And I don't see how "lack of confirmation" can "confirm" anything. They are antithetical by definition.

OFC IDK WHY those people would even buy ME3. But there is a reason for what their saying. (Its just not a very good one in my opinion.)

it intro just... is. it doesn't introduce anything, except an Earth smack-down Reaper style.

Remember, they have to fit the entire Reaper war into this game.

Uh, I dont know, maybe the fact that the game suddenly jumps ahead an untold number of months; youre suddenly discharged, best friends with Vega... oh yeah AND the Reapers are already here. maybe its not confusing, but its jarring and poorly paced. like BioWare was too eager to get to the big explosions and shooting to build up any sort of tension or drama.

Yeah. Doesn't feel like Bioware's classic, measured cinematic style at all. I'm still willing to bet this isn't the authentic introduction.

The confusion in the intro isn't so much a gameplay confusion, it's a narrative confusion. There's no real explanation of how Shepard ended up where s/he is, what became of his/her trial, how s/he knows Vega, what happened to the Normandy crew after ME2...
But I didn't think that was a particularly bad thing, and I'm satisfied with the opening should those things get explained down the line in the game proper.
They very much needed a trial sequence in which they detail what happened in Arrival and kinda bring players up to speed.

There isn't any conclusive evidence that the demo intro is the game intro.
It would make sense if it was, minus some parts. They wouldnt make an entirely separate demo that has nothing to do with the game, and they would not put the demo in the middle where it would be hard to omit spoilers. It is most likely the beginning.
