I have to laugh at the people coming up with all sorts of excuses why FemShep looks so young..
And it's not simply a matter of her looking young, but her looking young in relation to MaleShep, and the rest of Shepard's peers.
Ashley doesn't look like she's 24, neither does Kaidan look like he's 24. Same goes for Miranda, Jacob etc.... Heck, Sheploo is the epitome of a War weary soldier..
FemShep is the only oddball in this group, and seeing as she is the PC in the game, it's very strange.
So because the others look older for their age (which they do), Femshep should look older too? It's really all subjective since I think default Femshep could pass for 20-32ish. She also looks older than a lot of women my age in the 25-27 range. Again most people don't have a problem with Femshep's looks or her youthfulness. If you don't like her looking "young" use the character creator and make an older, more mature and/or masculine looking Femshep. The cc looks like it has some graphical improvements (still more or less the same) as well so it shouldn't be a problem. As much as I like the new Femshep I may still go for a cc option for a more personal touch.
The reason why people "spin" why she looks so young is because it's common for people to look young for their age and will be even more common in the future. Having a problem with that shouldn't go beyond personal taste and treated as a bad thing beyond that. Also in some cases this seems to be another "pretty/younger looking people suck" thread where it's more about the complainers own sour grapes than anything really wrong with Femshep. The same way people were equating blonde=bimbos, ginger=tartes/wussies etc.
How about this: Many in this thread have explained over and over why people who look young for their age do actually exist in reality, why it's not necessarily a bad thing, and why they don't think she looks 16 in the first place. MissMaster even came up with a study when called out on a point and that isn't good enough. How about some of the critics start explaining/proving that people don't exist who look young for their age, or that the younger someone looks the worse off they are as soldiers, the less believeable they are, shouldn't be taken seriously, are weak and/or shouldn't be a protagonist in a sci-fi video game taking place 170 years in the future?

No, women at my school referred to themselves as females. "Girls" and "ladies" were both offensive terms due to the social connotations. It was really the influence of a nutty Women's studies professor but most of the women took it to heart.
Yeah that's pretty bad that ladies got grouped into negative connotation. That would be like a man getting upset when someone referred to him as "sir" or a group of men as "gentlemen." Really?
