Um, you do have to choose to say that.  If you don't, she still shoots him.

Taking the initiative to protect her commanding officer, it's the same thing, she was doing her job as a soldier.

Yeah, I'm just saying that she's not necessarily acting under orders there.  You can in fact call her out on that if you want to.

A good soldier follows orders...they don't take initiatives on their own. That makes her a bad soldier...and bad soldiers don't get promoted.
But thanks to her I had to load a save created prior to the Virmire mission and go get the Family Armor assignment. Wrex is wayyy cooler than Ashley as a squadmate to lose.

I'm certain there are some in the forces on this forum and they would know better, but I believe it's the duty of a soldier to protect their commanding officer whether they receive an order or not, the priority is to maintain the command structure.

Ashley in command? U gotta be kidding me! I did her a favor when I saved her on Virmire. Although if I were given true power of choosing, I'd have left both Ashley and Kaiden on Virmire and recruited Captain Kirrahe and Shiala to fill in the gaps. And I don't really get why would the Council choose a racist like Ashley Williams or a Whiner like Kaiden Alencko to become Spectres. Just fantacizing here guys, no need to get worked up about it.

You, dear Sir, have no idea about Ashley Williams or Kaidan Alenko.
For example, you're spelling Kaidan wrong. There's no "e" in "Kaidan". :P

I'll accept their authority if BW decides to do it that way. Buuut ... I doubt that's going to happen. The "who's the captain" issue won't be in the game I fear. So there's no need to load lots of hate on the VS.

You do know Shepard does take initiatives on his/her own the entire game, right? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]

I wonder if we're going to get an explanation of how the Alliance just "took" my ship from me.

You surrender it as Hackett suggests at the end of Arrival..at least that's one way.

That would certainly fit for a paragon shep, but a renegade?

They drag you away in chains, kicking and screaming, and take your ship.  Your crew was all out on shore leave and you were asleep.

Know who else tried to stop shep when he was unarmed and sedated? Dr. kenson's team in Arrival...guess that didn't work out too well...

why because I am not a VS butt kissing fan boy or is it because I am never going to be one that gives a Bioware a free pass like most on here and in the games media gives them . The VS are garbage and I have no use for either one I saved Kaiden cause he is half way understanding then in ME 2 he calls my shepard a traitor how dare that worthless piece of scum do that . I want to murder his ass in ME 3 and if I get the chance I will .

Just wanted to say - I love reading your posts. They're hilarious. Keep up the good work!

On topic - I do hope the Normandy belongs to Kaidan/Ash now. Shepard can have the shuttle, which now comes with it's very own pilot (batteries not included) >.>

sorry I did not see the edits Jeerzy. Still...I am notbeing random, my gripe with the VS is very much rational. Again do I wish them dead? No...do I want them to be in control of MY team, MY ship and MY mission? No...sorry. And if she keeps her ME2 attitude Ash can stay on the Normandy 100% of the time...there's another 2 heavy hitters that can take her place with ease

Its a Roll Playing Game...where each individual gamer gets to make his/her own decisions. Which characers they love and which ones they hate is completely upto them. Personally I didn't give a damn about leaving Kaidan or Ashley behind. But apparently that aspect made a lot of gamers sad. Now if I had to choose between Tali/Liarra or Garrus/Wrex...i'd very much hate it. All I am hoping is that BW doesn't enforce anymore controvertial material like that into ME3. I would be willing to take orders from Anderson till my last breath, But I will die before I take orders from Udina. Get it??

Good grief! not again, Ashley is xenophobic, learn the difference, and yes there is a difference, and no, I'm not an Ashley fan.

She doesn't trust aliens but I don't think she hates them.  There's a difference.  Talking to her on the Normandy and having her and a alien squadmate in the elevators in ME1 makes this pretty clear.

sorry about the spelling mistake.
Now...hepard takes initiatives in the game on his/her own. Thats the point. He/she is the hero. When Ashley does that it feels like she is trying to play 'the hero'. As I said earlier...we have our own viewpoints. I wouldnot mind taking orders from them if their characters were like that of Garrus or Liarra. But thats my opinion. So just chill out.:)

Wrex: "A woman commanding a Ship, HA! If it's a mutiny you need, it's a mutiny you get, right Sheperd?"

Relax, everyone on the normandy, new or old are gonna be sucking Sheploo/Femsheps ass now that the Reapers are here. I'd rather have a leader thats tango'd with the enemy on more than one occasion to lead me, instead of someone who is rather green.

Yeah up until now people have been content to just let Shepard be Shepard, however given that Shepard being Shepard destroyed an entire solar system the powers that be might want to put a bit more restraint on him/her.

Oh please the alliance needs Shepard so badly its not even funny and Anderson even says in the demo he wants you to do what you do in other words get the job done no matter what

Yes they need him/her but they also need there to be something left when all is said and done.  Like I said it makes sense for the powers that be in universe to want to reign Shepard in a bit.  Not so much that s/he can't do their job, but enough that Bahak (sp?) doesn't happen again.

Vikxx86 wrote...
And don't even start about Ashley. She talks about other species like they are animals...

Yes because the aliens have shown humanity such courtesy in the past. You know how they all but forced us into conflict with the Batarians to further their own agenda, how they'll only allow us to colonize systems that provide a buffer between them and the Terminus, and sitting on their hands when a mutual enemy goes on the offensive in space they claim to control. Yes the aliens have been just pampering us haven't they.

Ash see's the aliens and their motives for what they are, selfish just like us. She acknowledges that if it comes down to us or them they are never going to pick us.

Vikxx86 wrote...
willing to go to any lengths to uplift her family's pride...a lost cause.

Yes how dare she try to redeem her family name that has been tarnished simply because her grandfather felt that protecting his people was more important than fighting a battle he couldn't hope to win. How dare her grandfather allow the Alliance's ego to be bruised.

You are voluntarily working alongside the enemy and you aren't part of either an undercover operation or temporary alliance. I think that's almost textbook traitor. I know we don't like to admit it but in ME2 Shepard is at best a hired gun and at worst a traitor and a criminal.

Overly emotional and not particularly bright? I'd say that fits with the VS characterization in ME2.

Sheperd have and will always out rank Ashley because Sheperd have always been CDR right from ME1. go and check the character creation from ME1 it tell you his/her rank. Ashely been a spectre doesn't mean that the ship is hers. you are forgetting one thing it does say any nothing out right that she was a spectre from the start of ME3.

Shep is a SPECTRE which trumps all....even president/king/whatever of earth if there was such a figure in ME....shep being a LTC means nothing....he is the senior SPECTRE...he answers to nobody but the council and Shep will deal with them too soon enough....he takes orders from nobody.

I am really hoping Shepard is stripped of his spectre status, I want ME3 to be a challenge where he cannot throw the spectre badge in peoples faces.

Shepard does not have Spectre status in ME2 unless the character manages to get it back from the Council. Apparently most people didn't?

my shep did and was  in me2 if the demo says was striped of it then there going to be some hell to pay and i am betting they will allow him back in since he told them that the reapers are coming, but the 300k bats dying will make it harder for her to get it back but i am betting there will be slight problem on the citadel that will give the rank back
