I was watching the demo with the little kid, and I almost cried (this is an exaggeration, it was more just like "oh god the kid"), the piano work was so perfectly fitting and everything was like a film I would pay to see in the cinema.

Absolutely incredible, and this is just a character we dont even know about... imagine if anything happened to our own squad.

Loving it Bioware :D

EDIT: The way I see it, the fact that it shows how helpless it is for those who dont have the gun or anything like that by their side. We usually only see soldiers die, they die knowing this is their job. The fact that it was a civilian just makes it that much more helpless. It is a very well done scene in that respect, and I can understand why others would mock it for being forced and/or unneccessary.

it was moving . . . especially the music

*edit* would've been more "moving" if they had let you know the kid a bit more . . . like with Kaidan for me, the first time i "let him die" and i walked down and saw the empty spot where he would've stood, made me kinda sad (note* not a huge Kaidan fan, always let him die except for 1 playthrough)

It was moving, I didn't cry but had goosebumps all over. Let's hope ti wasn't a one off, but if they did that to one of Shepard's squadmates, I think I would cry.

Yeah.

I don't understand how people get upset over games.

No you aint, if you don't get emotional/or tearing up when you see that scene, you obviously don't feel any emotional engagement in games.

Knowing you, anything that doesn't involve a Vanguard blowing the living hell out of a husk's head is "stupid".

Just sayin'.

It choked me up also, I'm hoping to see more of that in game.

Watching a child and other passengers getting obliterated is the most incredible moment of your life?

Dude if anyone tries to run you down about it, ignore them. It was a very heavy scene, and I don't get how some people say that it didn't really grab them, or worse, think that it was lame. But still, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I however, love it when stories shock you like this, especially in a game, because it reaches out and grabs you; makes you a part of the in-game world. It's like it comes to damn life. That's why I love the Mass Effect stuff so much. It sits on it's own plateau, away from other games out there. People have compared it to Gears of War and a few others, but to me, Mass Effect is Mass Effect, and there is no equal. Cheers.

Does the renegade dialog option save the kid or is he bound to die? Because I' ve only seen the result of the Paragon one.

I agree with Kronner...it felt forced. I felt more upset watching that dreadnought being destroyed. All those people died trying to stop the reapers.

I also like most bars across the galaxy and Urz.

But seriously, that kid scene feels forced. I thought that showing the death of one kid on Earth is pointless and I really couldn't care less since Reapers have killed (and will kill) a lot more people. That kid is not special IMHO.

We actually don't know if the child dies in either case, we see the shuttle destroyed but don't stay around long enough to see if anyone survived.

In emotion, The Darkness blows the Mass Effect series out of the water with just one scene, Jenny's death. The scenes involving you just watching TV together is just as good.

Pointless scene. I don't know the kid, i don't give 2 crappers about what happens to him. Garrus and Mordin dieing on my first run of ME2? Now THAT was sad.

I'd like to add forced and funny. I got planets to save and there are alot more other children out there. Don't care about some random kid.

The music was banging though.
