 I just got ME2, and ran into the black screen problem. I am not the first, but I haven't found anything useful.

System:
OS: Windows 7
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555
RAM: 2x 2GB
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 5500 (VRAM: 512 MB, supports Pixel Shader 5.0)
Audio card: VIA HD audio
DirectX: latest
MassEffect2.exe version: 1.02

Problem:
The screen goes black. I can still hear footsteps, fire my guns, press Escape and do anything in the menu.
Started: right after I got the game.
Occurs: when I start a new game. I set difficulty, autolevel, etc. then it just goes black.
Is it modified? In no ways. I only installed the 1.02 patch, that's all.

I tried to update everything, but the problem still occurs. Please help me, it's too much money to waste!
