I have Mass Effect 2 on PS3 and have been working on a couple new playthroughs to prime me for ME3. A have a few basic questions I'm sure you guys can answer.
1.) Once I complete the suicide mission (goin thru the Omega 4 relay, etc), can I still earn XP by doing the DLC like Shadow Broker and Arrival?
2.) Is is better (in terms of fluidity of the storyline/gameplay) to do Shadow Broke/Arrival before or after the suciide mission (give obviously that Shepard survives)?
3.) If I complete the game multiple times with different Sheps (say, one soldier and one vanguard), will I be able to choose whichever one I want to import into ME3?
4.) If I import a Shepard into ME3, will the difficulty that Shep played on also be imported? So for example if I finfished the game with a lvl 30 Vanguard shep and played on Hardcore, would I be forced to play ME3 on hardcore if I imprted him, or could I choose another difficulty?
Thanks guys

1) As far as I know you can still earn XP from doing DLC after the suicide mission.
2) I find it's better to do LOTSB after the suicide mission, but others might say it's better to do it before. But I'd strongly recommend doing Arrival after the suicide mission.
3) I'd say so yes, it wouldn't make sense for it not to give you the choice of which you want to import first.
4) Yes you should be able to change difficulty either before you start the game or in the options menu in-game.

1) You can earn experience up until lvl30. Not sure if you dont get any more experience after that, but the max level is 30, so if you do gain experience, it doesnt matter.
2) Both LotSB and Arrival are written in a manner that they make sense if you either finish them before or after the Suicide Mission. Most say its better to finish them after. LotSB unlocks the Stasis special skill when finished, but thats just a minor thing to consider.
3) I suppose it will work as the same it did between ME1 and ME2 on pc. You start a new game, you are given the choice to creat a new character, go with a standard pre-made character, or import from previous game. At the import option, you get the choose from the saves of the previous game. You could do that as many times as you want.
4) Again, i guess its the same as it was with previous imports. After the character is created, some gameplay options appear including auto-level and difficulty. I dont even think that difficulty is flagged in a save file.

Haha, no both of you guys were really helpful, thanks a lot!
I think I'm gonna finish my soldier playthrough on veteran, and then use that character to play through ME3, and then go back and do the whole thing on insanity.
The only thing that makes me hesitate is that on a PS3 it's highly unliely I will have reached level 30 on a single playthrough without the long-service medal, so I won't be coming into ME3 with maximum level boost, but whatever. That's one of the problems playing Mass Effect on a PS3 instead of a 360.

there are reasons to return to the brokers base.. theres an ability to retrain your squad and the options to effect some galactic events on the terminal... the arrival mission is described as an immediate reaper invasion.. if i heard that ... i dont think id wait around until i had finished a suicide mission.. lol just a thought
