If North Americans get ME3 on 6/3 but Europeans on 9/3, will Europeans still have enough time to save the Earth?

These seperate release dates always REALLY aggrevate me. I understand that the european version needs language support for several different countries whereas the US version only needs the english language.

The question is: why do us Brits have to wait? England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland all spoke English first. So why not just give us the US version?? I don't mind that you guys spell 'colour' without the 'u' or call 'lifts' 'elevators.' Means the same thing to me.

Quoting again just to fix that for you ;)

If you recall, the English language diverged after a while.  Infact, the English are just as off from the original like the North American Counterparts, some would even claim more.

Personally? I'm all for International same day re-leases...unless you're a day ahead of everyone, but Australia limits a lot of the violence they get, so not too many people care.

Could have something to do with the NTSC & PAL regional compatibility, which the Xbox still uses. Probably need some time to convert the game to the PAL system. That's what I think, but I'm not sure.

reposting from previous page.

its not conversion.  especialy since once the game goes gold, its vbasicaly doen, manufactured, etc etc.

TLDR version - its an outdated tradition that never got changed, even though circumstances no longer apply.

long version - bellow

the reason why in Europe games release on friday while in US they come
out on tuesday. back in a day, games used to release on friday, US AND
Europe because honestly - it makes more sense to release entertainment
things on weekends, to give people a chance to enjoy them right away,
without having to call in sick or something.

but the thing is, in
Europe, product would be delivered directly to store, while in US it
would go to distribution center first. So Wallmart put their foot down
and told companies that because of the distribution center thing, they
need to get product earlier in - to give it time to be delivered to
stores. and so companies did. Except they don't deliver games etc to
distribution centers anymore - now they arrive directly to stores, just
like they do in Europe... but they are still shipped out on the old
dates, from the older era. which is why in US games get released 3 days
early. they arrive to stores 3 days early.

Fair enough. I haven't had time to read anything else in this thread as I'm pretty sick, so I just stopped by. And like I said I didn't know for sure if that was the problem all I know is that it is still there. I think the whole regional thing should disappear by the time the next generation of consoles are released.

OK..... It was a joke, lol.... and the point still stands that English people spoke English before Americans did ;) The important word here is *first* not best, not most accurate - first....

By that logic it'd be the North American's turn to start a World War(3).

Finish him!

It's not like it would be ground breaking either, it's been done plenty of times... Like Gears 3 as an example  :)

It would be ground breaking for games that have to be fully translated, but if Japan is slated to be still in Febuary for the Japanese, and Armored Core V is slated to be in March for the American and European release, there is something horribly wrong.

Even worse, because Armored Core V is going to be very competitive, and...problamatic.

For sure... but it would only be ground breaking once and then people would get with the programme... it's not like they can't plan ahead for that stuff, they know in advance that the game will need translating if they want to sell it :kissing:

Dude, America is a testing playground, after that Europe can start saving Earth :P

...not to mention that Japanese people probably already did it (clearing Asia and Pacific of the threat), just lying low for the moment, you know how they are... with all those giant mechs, politeness and reserve/calm...

We can dream.

I played the ****** only demo, had to do some fun bypassing.  Needless to say, I still can't understand Japanese or Kanji, but I feel pretty good if I can kill enemy Japanese players and not understand a single thing in the game.

I think we are getting into the realms of flimsy semantics here...  :P English as we understand it is a collection of stolen words and phrases anyway....  ;)but as I said up there ^^^^ It was a joke and it was made in reference to a comment about British people speaking English as well as Americans and Canadians... context is a wonderful tool

At the end of the day, its North Americans making the titles you so love (by you i mean Europeans) so quit the complaining about the disparity of game release dates, it has to do with translationsPAL and your market system favoring releasing things on Fridays.

I'm sorry, but you realise that the team is multi-national right?.... <_<

You know, Brits shouldn't make fun of that. Although you say the date as the rest of the world, America excluded since they're not part of this world, Brits do tend to think they are the only ones driving on the right side of the road and the rest of the world is crazy and wrong!

I leave this thread for a few hours, and look what happens. This is the last time I joke about Americans, trolling and George Bush!
And what do you people mean Britain and England are different, it's an issue of semantics. The Scots are a conquered people anyway. And of course we're driving on the right side of the road, the French did it just to be different and the rest of you, well I don't know what you're up to.Image IPB

No it's not. Scotland and England have different laws. While they're both united under one monarch, they're both seperate countries with different ways of doing things.

American phonology (pronunciation) is more archaic than most varieties of British English as is its grammar.
