imagine if they release the mass effect 2 demo ppl would have been " were is the normandy scene we were promised, its not in the demo. bioware has failed us!!!!!!"

The Normandy scene was actually right before that.. I played the Mass Effect 2 demo on PS3, it was included.

People aren't exactly jumping to conclusions. Their fears are being confirmed by the (vague) answers from Bioware.

The Trial/Hearing has been reduced to "We fight or we die."

Like I said, as much as I was looking forward to the trial, it doesn't really make sense for the Alliance to hold a trial when they know something huge is heading their way and the only explanation they have is what Shepard warned them about.

That doesn't say "there is no trial". That says "the demo is taken directly from the beginning of the game." What if the trial comes later? As in Genesis? Sneaksy Biowares, says us, preciousss.

Can you import a character into the demo?  If not then I can see this being the opening for people creating a new character since they wouldn't want to sit though a trial about events that they never played and thus don't care about.  The trial may still be included for import characters for all we know.  If it was simply cut then I think BioWare would have just come out and said it.  Since there's still some secrecy I think something's up.

I'm pretty sure Shepard was incarcerated before the Reaper threat became imminent. There is a LONG period between ME2 and the beginning of Mass Effect 3. There really is plenty of time to put a trial in there. When ME3 starts it seems like the trial has already played out..

Arrival made a big deal about it.  "Report to Earth for a trial". It was anticipated by everyone and a pretty big thing to leave out. (If they are leaving it out)

No, you can't import into the demo, unfortunately.

Why no having a trial cut scene at the beginning. Then the game could start with Shep as a prisoner.
A totally original concept! pity.Image IPB

Mass Effect 3 starts (roughly) 6 months after the end of Mass Effect 2. It starts with the end of the trial of Commander Shepard during which the Reapers first arrive on earth. This is the bit that starts the game and the demo.

Meh, I'm ok with this.  I think the trial would have bogged down the opening of the game unnecessarily and disrupted the pacing of the story.

What dodge? This is the start of the game, people who have played the demo will back me up on this. How's this dodging?

It still sets the stage for Shepard being present on Earth when the Repaer invasion begins, trial or no.

Ironically the pacing is what everyone is complaining about... :pinched:

Then you're the kind of customer EA wants. No sense bogging players down with plot and character development when there are things to kill!

(Sorry I couldn't help it, I'm disappoineted at the opening- it's another bit of railroading and cut corners)
