Like I said, as much as I was looking forward to the trial, it doesn't really make sense for the Alliance to hold a trial when they know something huge is heading their way and the only explanation they have is what Shepard warned them about.

If not then I can see this being the opening for people creating a new character since they wouldn't want to sit though a trial about events that they never played and thus don't care about. The trial may still be included for import characters for all we know. If it was simply cut then I think BioWare would have just come out and said it. Since there's still some secrecy I think something's up.

It still sets the stage for Shepard being present on Earth when the Repaer invasion begins, trial or no.Xarathox wrote...

Meh, I'm ok with this. I think the trial would have bogged down the opening of the game unnecessarily and disrupted the pacing of the story.
