But the whole "where's the recap?", "We don't learn much about the characters" will come after the title drop, which happens when the Normandy leaves Earth.

I've already said this numerous times.

They refuse to listen to reason.

I guess it was trailled and they declared....

..a mistrial.

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.

If its not in the game its a shame, because it would be great to get a bit of filler in for whats happened and even a chance to recap the story (which I thought they were eager to do?).

Really good point. Some people might have had a long break from ME2 or haven't played Arrival.

Thats what I thought the trial was for - it was "The Story so far..." mechanic.

The DLC is presumed to have happend - quite a large number (the majority) didn't buy DLC (if memory serves on sale of DLC), so the trial was  way of keeping them informed. If players haven't seen the comics, it brings them up to speed.

Seems really odd that they would remove that, unless after Earth they've introduces alternative filler ins - like how ME2 did the choice / fill in AFTER the tutorial.

So, uh how bout those dialogue choices?

Far more important.

But we'd rather argue over something so trivial that it's not even funny.

I might make a thread.

I don't see the problem. The game starts with Shepard in the detention centre. Through the comics we know who Vega is, through the following conversations we know Shepard has been relieved of command, through playing the game we know why, you go before the commitee and then all hell breaks loose. I'm sure there'll be some fleshed out bits from importing a character so I'm not seeing the big problem here.

Sounds like typical BSN BS.

So this isn't a cohesive trilogy, it's relying on other media for people to understand things? Why?

OMG what a major gripe! Pre-order cancelled!<_<

Even without the comics the game will have an explanation. It's called storytelling. It doesn't have to hold a persons hand. There's hardly anything confusing going on here.

That's not the point at what Ambiguity is getting at, or asking.

Come people, as you all know from official sources, Mass Effect 3 is the best game to jump into the series!

No one's confused. But it's absurd to "rely" on other types of media to tell part of a game. If it's in the game, then fine, no biggie. If it's not, then just another little thing that ME3 got wrong.

Again, no biggie.

Lame, are they gonna tell how the Reapers are arriving at the beginning? Yes or no is good.

I really don't get the complaints about the whole Vega thing. All Shepard says is 'Don't call me that' when Vega says commander, and then a few more lines down the hall. It's not like they're talking about last night game or anything, it's all quite formal.

Since we haven't played the whole game, how do we know that there's any reliance at all? It sounds like there's a bunch of people b!tching before they know the whole story.

I mean, that kind of thing doesn't happen around here right?

Yes which is why we should be trying to get answers about the auto dialogue.

The information was shoddy at best.  What did you honestly expect?

I got that impression from you ("We know Vega from the comic"). Perhaps I misread it.

Not to mention about 33.34% of the time Chris is wrong and another 33.34% of the time he's just trolling us.

I take everything he says with a bowl of salt.

I'm honestly more alright with it now since it's probably because Shepard's technically not Alliance at that moment, but it still suggests a familiarity that I didn't experience in the game.  In ME1, all the crew called me Commander even though we'd known each other for at least a bit.

I love the start of ME3 if it's identical to the demo. I agree though it's not the best point to jump into the series. But I'm biased, I bothered to buy ME1 and 2 and play them. It's a fracking awesome story to experience.

True, except the last team I talked to in person actually had the courtesy of not directly lying to our faces, or the information they give was correct, but not enough to reveal major plans. They did however ignore my request to patch a piece of equipment.

This also didn't help that I was practically babysitting their team, good lord.
