@Il Divo - Don't both arguing/talking/discussing with txgoldrush, it will be a complete waste of time. tx unalterably believes that his position is perfect and unassailable and it hasn't changed an iota from how he attacks people on the DA2 forums who are critical of DA2.

@Oricard - Shepard had to have already had the trial/hearing, that's the only way he had the command of the Normandy taken from him, stripped of his rank and confined. Those things can't all be done without one.

It's fairly obvious..."any other soldier would have been tried, court marsheld and discharged." We was NOT put on trial....for any reason at all.

"...and discharged." And yet something happened while the player wasn't there because Shep was stripped of her rank and confined. At the end of the Earth level Shepard even states this to Anderson when she tells him she doesn't have to follow orders any more. So discharged from the Alliance, no, but obviously not an officer anymore either at the beginning.

Not to mention I simply love they try to make each installment of a TRILOGY accesable to "new players". So they butcher and tear everything but combat to pieces so "new people" don't feel left out. HELLO! THEY SHOULD FEEL LEFT OUT! They were dumb enough to wait until the END OF A TRILOGY to start playing! Thats like Lucas telling people no one needs to watch Episodes IV and V! that they can totaly skip them and watch VI and get the entire experience!

Agreed - and we are told that while out of the other side of the wirters mouth they are saying - choices matter more in this game than any other -

Yea...they seem to love trolling us. Don't get me wrong...I'm still gonna get the game and enjoy it as best I can. But what I have seen so far is disheartning. The massive amount of catering to new people just so they don't feel left out is astounding. That is not how you write Trilogys....period.

Yea...unfortunetly theres not a whole lot more to say...nothing can be done. Nothing can be changed. They clearly just find it humorus that we are displeased with their dedication to making sure new players dont get their feelings hurt by feeling left out at the END OF A TRILOGY. It's a sad and unfortunate conclusion but alas "business is buisness". and Honestly...am I the only one who isn't really impressed with the new combat? It don't really feel any damn different.

I have to admit - the whole word count thing is somewhat "smoke and mirror"-ish when you consider the different variations they may have to do, even for small stuff. "Ash, you're alive" "Kaidan, how are you?" Twice the word count could still = a shorter and/or thinner game storywise. Don't go hanging your hat on that.

Nothing can be done, sure...

But I'm somewhat astounded that Priestly hasn't bothered to chime back in after asking why people were upset 53+ pages ago.

This is just absolutely a PR firestorm and Bioware's public facing community managers are nowhere to be found.

And if they think this is bad, just wait until the forums blow up after the PC demo's available, if the experience of Xbox players is anything to go by.

What makes you say that? not like PC gamers are bigger whiners then console ppl. They dont really have anymore reason to be upset then we already are. But still...I'm getting rather tierd of Biowares rather smart ass comments about stuff like this. Chris basiclly poped in here and went "You mad bro?" with a troll face and left.

I say that because I think that while the missing trial has been brought up, PC gamers haven't realized that there are other odd choices that were made in designing the game that haven't gotten a lot of attention as of yet.

Once the PC demo's available, they're going to be discovered en masse, and as anal as some people are about changes ... Just the fact that they actually went in and REMOVED, not didn't get around to adding, the option to holster weapons is going to cause a minor furor, let alone some of the other changes.

That was removed due to memory space...that part couldnt be helped. But still...I'm rather tierd of the blatent disregard for concerns...everything is just dismissed as "whining fanboz" ...getting rather old...

Did you see the QA Ninja early today say that fans should be happy that the Dev team was so dedicated and spent thousands of hours making a game for them to play?

As if game development isn't their frigging job.

No...but knowing that...glad I didn't. The attitudes from both sides is getting out of hand. Devs getting cocky and troll us constantly. Fans get enflamed and bash everything often. It's a rather disgusting situation in my personal opinion.

Honestly at this point I think I might just throw in the towel after ME3. I don't have the patience for these arrogant Dev attitudes and whining fans who hate everything that does not fit their opinions.

i know lots of people say that on these boards but I'm rather serious. Bioware is very quickly becoming a beast I don't want to associate with. They think we should be grateful for any piece of trash they decide to let us have. Fans think they are entitled to more just because they buy the product.

Chris comments in this thread are only further proof.

But like I said...I still plan on giveing ME3 a fair chance...but the opening on Earth is not a good sign about the rest of this product imo. neaither are things like Ashleys new look, adding ppl like Jessica Chobot and other things. It all just stinks of pandering to the lowest common demoninator.

Well, that was one of the more prominent mentions I saw from those that had played the 360 demo.

I'm not sure I get how removing a button that simply triggers an animation still present in the game is a "memory space" issue, but then again, not a programmer, so...

Just concerns me given how much the trial and overall "consequences of actions coming to fruition" was played up and all of a sudden it's 'Well, we want to make ME 3 a great entry point for players new to the series, so...

Couple that with all the enthusing about how great ME 3 is since it's so close to being Gears of War and....

I don't know.

I'll wait to see how it turns out because I love the series, but I'd by lying if I said I wasn't getting a little scared with recent revelations, particularly as I've already paid my $80 down for the ticket to ride.

I do think people take comments made by the Devs as being written in stone which is never a good idea. Anyone who has ever worked on a large scale project, knows they can change drastically over the course of time. I imagine that is much more common in game/movie development.

They could do with being better at communicating this though.

They did leave it open for the trial to be used as a flashback. Like when you are on your way to the Citadel to speak to the Council.
