Man I was really looking forward to a trial. I was kinda hoping that Shep would be in the middle of explaining his/her actions in Arrival and the Reapers would then blow the roof off the joint and say "Surprize!!!"

I'm not saying it's the Reapers... But it's the

I have read numerous times that there is supposed to be some mechanic to set previous decision if don't import, like the genesis comic used in ME2.

That could be the trial. And it's obvious why they wouldn't include it on the demo.

I wondering if there was even a trial at all.

Anderson says anyone else would have been tried, court martialed and discharged, but your knowledge of the reapers was the only thing that stopped it from happening to you.'

It sounds like you just got grounded and relieved of command.

I noticed this as well, good find.

"The **** you've done" is likely referring to ME2 as a whole. Shepard worked with Cerberus. Regardless of Arrival happening, she'd be put on trial, court-martialed and discharged simply for working with what the Alliance labels a terrorist organization. It would be like a United States soldier working for Al-Queda for a short while then coming back.

The events of Arrival would take something else entirely. This isn't just the Alliance; this is the entire Batarian government. There's no way in the universe that Shepard could just be grounded and relieved of command to make that problem go away. There has to be a trial of some sort for that large of a loss of life for any race, let alone one that dislikes humanity to begin with.

Anderson says how are you holding up since being relieved of duty.  Then he says don't worry we'll get it all sorted out, as if there hasn't even been a trial yet, and you're just grounded.

Almost like you're waiting for trial.

Wait a second. Yeah! Maybe they're on their way to the trial before the Reapers arrive.

It's Sunday, so they're not working. Or, player's fears are true and what we saw in the demo is what we'll get in the game.

Three weeks before launch ? They *will* be working. It's basically part of their job description.

That could be something you do to gain Batarian support, go to their homeworld to report for your crimes. But still, if ME3 happens well after the events of ME2 (I think I remember it being 6 months...? someone fact check me), then that trial should have already happened. With that large of a loss of life-- let alone resources, land, etc.-- the Batarians would NOT wait six months for justice. That trial or war or whatever would follow would do so immediately.

I thought the trial was going to be related through a Genesis-type dealie. Maybe as a Day One DLC... hopefully. :/

So what we see in the demo is what we get in the game. No trial. No exposition.

Everything in the conversations leads one to believe he/she is just grounded and hasn't been tried.

Anderson saying we'll get it all sorted out really leans that way.  There's nothing to sort out if the verdict is already in.  Plus if the trial had already happened, Shepard would be in jail if guilty or back to duty if cleared.  Why would he/she still be just grounded.

Also Anderson says the committee has read his/her reports and they trust him/her, and then Shepard says is that why they grounded me and took away my ship.  That line would have had 'is that why they put me on trial' somewhere in it had he/she already been tried.

Well like other people have said maybe it's not a trial in the classic sense maybe it's more of an inquiry. Maybe they just need to get all the details of what occured during arrival from Shepard. After they get this information they ground him. Anderson "getting all of this fixed up" could simply mean he wants to get him un grounded. An inquiry would be just fine with me. As long as they discuss what happened during Arrival I don't care what they call it.

It's sunday (here anyways), and I haven't seen much activity from BW all day. However, they don't exactly have to say anything if they don't want to.

Alot of people who played the DEMO already think they were suppose to see/get Level 60 Infiltrator or Vanguard with all weapon/upgrades and Biotic upgrades with all available dialogue and cinematic's.

It's a D.E.M.O.

So far I've seen Joel Green, Jarret Lee, and Brenon Holmes respond to threads today. It's a little suspicious to me that they responded in other threads but just decided not to respond to this one and others like this one.

Actually after thinking about it, I'm positive there is more to the intro. The debs had tweeted in the past that there was some in-game Genesis thing. So either flashback on the Normandy or part of the intro got cut out.

I think the trail/ hearing will play as a type of genesis comic book to inform new players . It makes sense cuz they will be asking shepard question about this military record and why he blew up the batarian system. It would make sense to cut it out, the demo can only be so big and putting in the whole trial would be pointless after all it is a demo. For example when u play the demo they ask u if u saved ash, kaiden and an option where u lost alot of your squadmates. Why would bioware exclude the rest of the choices?? Answer: it a demo!

You overrestimate the attention span of the games target audience... A boring trial would surely turn off most of them.
(JUST GET TO THE EXPLOSIONS ALREADY!)

- For shame Bioware, for shame. <_<

I hope this is what's going on! A trial would be an easy form of exposition for newcomers too...

No, the demo is taken directly from the beginning of the game.
