One can only hope you are correct. I'm still not sure why they couldn't be explain to me during that demo. There is little enough dialogue as it is, surely a few more lines would not have been the end of the world.

I myself have beaten the demo 6 times. I was paying attention every time. And I know a lot of us have replayed it specifically to see if we missed something. It's not an issue of paying attention. If it has to be explained outside of the game, then there is something wrong.

But if there is no indication of this in the demo, how are the players supposed to form an opinion?

Wow, again. Letters on the wall. I'm glad that's good enough for you. Especially when WE AREN'T EVEN GOING TO A TRIAL IN THAT ROOM. Just seeing the DEFENSE COMITY. To confirm information.

Same for reading Chris say it on a forum.

Do we see a trial? Is it mentioned that we're in the middle of it? Or that it has already begun? Or hasn't happened yet?

Do you not recognize a scene cut?, Shepard and Anderson were heading to the courtroom, Ash/Kai had just come out of the court, as Anderson and Shepard continue their way toward the courtroom the screen fades, thats your cut scene.

The demo is supposed to get us excited about the game. If people leave the demo feeling confused, then there's a problem. It's not a GIANT problem, but it's still a problem for some people.

No it isn't.

Certain ones have already been answered with Arrival and ME2. Others will be better explained through dialogue with other characters. Stories do this all the time.

Considering that the Reapers are here I don't really feel the need to have this stuff crammed into the first hour of the game before the reapers actually get their. That is horrible pacing.

If that is the case, then all this discussion could have been avoided if we had not been told repeatedly that this was not the case. I would love to believe you, but I sort of have to weight the voice of Bioware's staff a little more heavilly then I do yours.

Do you not listen to dialogue? They're going to talk to a defense comity.

They are not going to a trial about Shepard blowing up batarians. A trial that is not implied, beyond Shepard sitting around on Earth. Which could be for any reason.

All I want it is to be implied. Telling me it's been cut is no excuse to ignore that a trial of some kind was suppose to happen.

stuff

Again, if you ever payed any attention to what I say, you'd know that I am not criticizing the game. All I have ever said here is that I was disappointed with the lack of a trial. That's it, that's all. I've told you this directly multiple times. You're really quite dense.

Go attack someone who says the game is crap and Bioware is failing, or betraying their loyal fans, or whatever. I am not that person. For realls. I spent two hours today played ME3 Multiplayer. It's great. The game will be too. How clear can I be about this?

And yet people are attacking Bioware, calling them similiar to failing, threatening to cancel preorders, call it for the cOD crowd etc, because of a cut scene in the game....this thread has this.

I was disappointed by  a couple of stuff in the leak, but I am going to wait and see to judge than throw a tantrum like many of the posters in this thread.

To all of you;

Demoes aren't there to ANSWER anything. They are there to give a taste.

I didn't play the Gears of War 3 demo and expect questions answered.

I know, sweety. I know. But I'm not one of those people. So could you please, please, with a cherry on top, save your vitriol for people who are, and stop throwing it at me?

Dear lord, I'm not going into the whole switching around of dialogue to fit the new situation.

And you don't get that I know it's been cut.

I think they should have at least implied a trial was or is going to happen in ME3. But Reapers appearing changed things.

Instead of not having any reference of a trial happening or going to happen, as you see it now.

If you don't want to understand that, that's your problem.

Now that's a blatant overreaction. Vague and a bit clunky, for the opening few minutes - but then some quality squad interaction on Sur'Kesh. Hardly foul.

Well the intro we have is already about 5 minutes. A trial to cover all the ground of the last two games in any meaningful way could take longer than 20 minutes. If it can't be meaningful, why have it?

Who said it can't be meaningful?  Why not use the trial as a way to bring new players up to speed rather than a comic.  Take about the same amount of time and you can even have it auto fill in the facts (Genesis style) for imports while still allowing the player to defend their actions.  It's more engaging, provides a seemless transition from 2-3, and we can pick up some early P/R points.

Wait for the full game before being confused by the demo? No...I don't think people can do that.

Honestly, doing that in a trial I think would be too weird. Asking about Virmire or Mordin's mission, when they should be asking about what happened in Arrival.

I posted something on the previous page, I think.

If you really think through how a trial sequence would need to be structured and the amount of dialogue needed to feel satisfying, it would need to be at least as long as Tali's and that was broken up with a combat mission.
