Did the start of the game (demo) feel really abrupt to anyone else here?

That should help convince people this is the real deal. Taken from another thread.

Does anyone remember how the Mass Effect 2 demo was in comparison to the final game? I don't I doubt I ever bother downloading it. It might be a good barring to to judge.

The Mass Effect 2 PS3 demo was exaclty like how it was in the game.

What, you want to meet their juries or something?

You can tell several lines were taken out during the walk to the committee.

But yes, you won't get to really know what is going on until you get on the Normandy more than likely.

Edit:  I have no issue with trying to jump into things, and we all know folks would still be complaining even if there was more to this section.

I liked that it was abrupt. The whole demo seemed kind of like a fresh start. You and Anderson teaming up? **** yeah.

i really question the iq of the bsn

do you people even know what a demo is?

that's like complaining about a trailer having plot holes

We already had two games building up to the arrival of the Reapers. Do you REALLY need an extra 10 minutes before that happens?

It's delusion to believe this isn't the full picture. Those who continue to entertain the fancy will be crushed upon seeing it as truth come release. There's too much cinematic polish to the prelude, too much developer denial to remark, a comment from Chris Priestly confirming it as such and more.

Myself, I don't hate it. I do hold the opinion that it is not good. I felt the same about ME2's intro as well, however, and overall I prefer ME2 over ME1. So I still anticipate loving this game, so long as the auto-dialogue isn't quite so rampant throughout. Which, well, the Sur'kesh stuff that's missing yet up on YouTube is cause for hope -- that part was much more traditional.

But hoping for heaps more content pre-attack? No, it's just too obviously complete at this point. Expect your further explanations to come from the Normandy at this point.

Sweet Jebus people, it's not THAT big of a deal. It's the damn intro. At least it's longer than most game intros. Calm down.

As long as there isn't all of that auto dialogue Bioware's still got my 80 bucks.

I must admit a minor sin, for so rarely do I feel this way. But I almost look forward to the "it's a demo you numbskulls" crowd's wide eyes of utter confusion once they realize there's no trial.

Yeah, it's still passable. And shiny, very shiny.

Of what, the same justification Shepard gave to Hackett at the end of arrival?

At least it's better than the sorry excuse for an intro from Dullrim.

It wasn't much more abrupt than ME2. Hell, it was longer and offered more than ME2 (Earth=Normandy under Attack).

Everything will be caught up to speed on the Normandy most likely.

Okay, so now i've got my cut trial disappointment out of the way, now i need to find out how much auto-dialogue and shallow two choice dialogue options there are in the game.

Don't bother. People want a two hour cut scene at the start of the game, with everyting from the trial, to Shep meeting Vega and Anderson brushing his teeth and getting dressed. Or maybe they're just complaining for the sake of it, I don't know.

'Ohai Joker and Pressly. Nice three lines apiece. Aaahh, attack! Oh noes, the Normandy asplode.'

And yet you sucked up to Lagrim despite it being one of the shallowest arrgh-pee-gee made.

Disappointing, especially since ME2 did such a terrible job at building towards this.

Exactly.  Hopefully Mars is much better than Lazarus.
