Now you are just being silly, I'd need at least 3 hours to get all that in!The PLC wrote...
Don't bother. People want a two hour cut scene at the start of the game, with everyting from the trial, to Shep meeting Vega and Anderson brushing his teeth and getting dressed. Or maybe they're just complaining for the sake of it, I don't know.
Did the start of the game (demo) feel really abrupt to anyone else here?

I think the Earth bit from ME3 really shouldn't only be compared to the Normandy intro from ME2. Earth is to ME3 as Normandy + Lazarus Station is to ME2.

Not to my eyes it doesn't, but I respectfully understand that this is a fairly common opinion.

No, actually: Earth = Miranda's and TIM's speech + Normandy under attack + Shepard's escape from that station.

Exactly. Hopefully Mars is much better than Lazarus.
anything is better than lazarus

There was supposed to be a trial/hearing....but apparently that got cut. Shame now Earth is pretty much an afterthought.
you do realize that the reason why it was never introduced is because shepaloo was requested for the defence comitte right?
i mean after all whats more important? an event that happened 6 months before me3 or the fact that the reapers are here?

Fair.
Well the Normandy part was like ten minutes long, wasn't it? Lazarus was another 20. Albeit a 20 with far less auto-dialogue.

The normandy bit plus Lazarus station is around the same time.
Mars is more like Freedom Progress since you get put right into those locations

Not sure why bioware can't do good intros though, anymore anyway. I thought the previous games intros were all good. With the exception of DA2 and to a much lesser extent ME2.

This right is true. After the 10 minute portion of Earth is completed, we know what is going on and what we have to do. In ME2, we're still clueless about everything until the end of the Lazarus.

Yeah, I still prefer the Earth stuff from ME3. Much more personal and really sets up the stage for the rest of the game.

I timed the Normandy cutscene in one of my many playthroughs, I did it as fast as I could, skipping the dialog, and it was nine something. So, with dialog it'd probably be ten, maybe eleven. By the way, who decided it was a great idea to put in a nine to eleven minute, unskipable cutscene?

We already had two games building up to the arrival of the Reapers. Do you REALLY need an extra 10 minutes before that happens?
Of what, the same justification Shepard gave to Hackett at the end of arrival?

this is the "shortest" begining when you compare it to Eden Prime and Lazurus Station . . . that tells me that they cut a lot of content for spoiler reasons, i was concerned at first until i started playing it myself, Youtube videos just didn't convey the pace that i wanted to go at and it seemed to short for an "intro"

It was a short answer though. It doesn't outright say it's the exactly same; it's just taken directly from the beginning. There's certainly more opportunity in there for dialogue.

Except nothing has been cut.
