Has it been confirmed that the Dog has the taunt/aggro generating ability? DA:O seems t use MMORPG forumulas regarding "aggro." So even if Shale or the Dog can take the damage dished against them, if they can't keep the monsters away from the damage dealers they would make poor tanks.

I'd say "PM me about Shale's abilities (just descriptions, of course)", but I'm afraid that I'd end up saying "PM me about Shale's abilities (just descriptions, of course)" 12 or 13 times, so...

Yes, Shale can fill in for a warrior.

Rabbit doesn't make a good tank. Or, rahter, not as good as a vanilla sword and shield warrior. He's more melee dps, but not as squishy as a rogue.

wait, can i get a PM explaining this? since we're trying to be "spoiler free" i'm guessing. i really want to know how SHALE fits into a party role so i can plan this out all day at work tomorrow.

An important note about the golem:

Shale does not have the best stats for tanking, although the hitpoints are pretty high.

As a tank, though, Shale is BY FAR the best at gaining aggro and keeping aggro.  A geared up Alistair can take a beating and not be flanked, but you are more likely to have people attacking your squishies.
