I hadn't planned to make an excuse but now you mention it ...

I developed a cold over the weekend and wasn't able to go into work today. I don't think I'll be fit for tomorrow either and then it suddenly occurred to me last night that tomorrow is demo day. First time ever I've been pleased about having a cold.

I think I might look into having some time off but March is one of the busiest times of the year for me and stays that way till July.  Still, I always have summers with little to do.

I wanted to take a whole week off for vacation, but my kids keep getting sick. So my time off has been gobbled up by the daycare monster.

Also, I pre-ordered mine. I'm not sure if I'll get it on the 6th (I got Deception a day early) or 2 days after based on the delivery choice (second day). But when I get it, I will most likely take a personal day and put in for it in advance.

Part-time job that gives me full-time hours for about a week to week and a half every month. Doesn't start until between the 15 to 17 ... Yay, no need to make excuses. Now if only I could convince my husband that we need to pay for an extra week of daycare that week ...

Since March 9th is a Friday, all I need to do is wait until I get home, put the disc in my Xbox, and proceed to not exit the room for the whole weekend.

However, I'm a news correspondent for our school's TV station. Still need to come up with a reasonable excuse to skip that...

My company makes me use my vacation by April 1 [use it or lose it] so it was no problem to schedule most of the release week off

I'm not going to take a day off, in fact, I have to sort out a few problems before I can play and enjoy the game and that will probably take me another 3-4 weeks after release date.

I planned this day off the day they announced the release date. Though I told my boss why and she was cool with it she understands how much I love Video games.
