I get it the 9th but I'm not in uni on the 7th/8th, so I'm hoping it comes early!
Depends how excited I get on the day - I already told my parents I wasn't going to go in anyway.

My school is gaming related anyway so playing Mass Effect 3 is good study material for a fledgling game designer.

Haha same here! I also study game-design.

I tell you what, at my university it's even worse. When Skyrim was released, my game-design teacher took the day off to play Skyrim non-stop. He was supposed to give us a lecture on game-mechanics that day, but he e-mailed us, saying that he prefers playing Skyrim over teaching us, with an evil smiley-face, like this:

Next week, when we say our game-design teacher, he changed the subject of his lecture from 'game-mechanics' to 'narrative in roleplaying games'. LOL!

Haha! Using video games to come up with lesson plans? Priceless.

Yeah we talked about roleplaying and roleplaying games all day long during his lecture. In the end, it wasn't much like a lecture, it was more like a debate. :o

My teacher has funny opinions ons roleplaying and RPGs though, opinions I actually agree with (but I bet no-one on BSN will ever agree). He said that Skyrim and Dragon Age: Origins don't really allow you to roleplay, but Mass Effect does. He felt more connected to Commander Shepard than any of this Skyrim characters or DA:O characters. He also explained why he felt like that. I actually agreed with him. I also prefer Mass Effect to DA:O or Skyrim when it comes to roleplaying.

Knowing BSN, I'm going to get some very vocal replies to that opinion, if I ever speak it out loud here, which I just did. :innocent:

Since I ordered mine online, it likely won't come till the 8th, which is when the weekend starts for me. So I'll be spending the whole weekend in ME3.

I feel bad for my best friend, who's finals are the week ME3 comes out and the week after lol

I wonder what my boss would say if I told him "I have a court date. In Vancouver. For killing 300,000 innocent people."

I agree with your teacher. ROleplaying is playing a role. Skyrim and Origins is more about simulation.

May I ask what his reasons are?

I have a free lesson first thing on Fridays, so I'll be off to pick up mine on the 9th (UK Release date), then I'll probably skip my optional extra History lesson last thing in the afternoon to go home and get started with it. No skipping mandatory sessions though - need them to pass my courses.

No excuse, I'm just taking that day off. If my work ask, I'll tell them because I want to have the day to play ME3. As long as you put in the request ahead of time and have the hours for it,they will approve it most of the time(haven't had them tell me no yet).

Indeed - Makes doing stuff during the day so much easier when I go to a college five minutes from my house as opposed to a high school a 20 minute train and a 20 minute bus away.

You guys are fortunate to be able to have schools. Everything I know I had to teach myself through trial and error, and lots of DVD's. :P Good luck in whatever field you end up choosing.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I've got the 9th, I have every weekend off anyway, and monday 12th off, so long weekend for me. Don't need an excuse, I have holidays I'm entitled to, what I do with them is none of my boss business. I just say I want so and so off and I get them off if no one else is off those days already.

I haven't missed school or work in ages. I just told my advisor and boss I'm going to be gone for personal reasons that likely will extend through the whole week of March 5th. They both took it fine. I'm even getting my absences excused and homework emailed to me without any documentation needed.
