Sorry if this has been brought up in another topic, I tried doing a search and found no results.

I was watching a YouTube vid of the ME3 demo and someone was going through the start up screen for a New Shep and during the Psychological Profile section after selecting the usual 2 choices (Background & Profile) there was another screen where the player got to describe combat losses and it had 3 choices.

Quoted from the Demo itself
Numerous
- The deaths of numerous squadmates and friends have begun to play a significant role in Commander Shepard's psychological profile.

The burden of inevitable combat loss after so many high-risk missions weighs heavily on Shepard.

Kaidan Alenko - Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko was killed in action--the direct result of an order issued by Commander Shepard. The only other survivor of the incident was Gunnery-Chief Ashley Williams.

Shepard and Williams's shared loss of Alenko created a strong bond between them, although the incident has had a lingering psychological effect

Ashley Williams -   Gunnery-Chief Ashley Williams was killed in action--the direct result of an order issued by Commander Shepard. The only other survivor of the incident was
Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko .

Shepard and Alenko's shared loss of Williams created a strong bond between them, although the incident has had a lingering psychological effect .

So it has me wondering what the 'Numerous' is going to be, is that gonna be a 'Worse playthrough' of ME2 coupled with the default gained from ME1 of ME2 (Wrex, Rachni, Alien council all dead and opposing sex out of Kaidan/Ashley as the VS).

I'm going to guess this is possibly the case and the other 2 just have Ashley and Kaidan as the only deaths.

Most likely random squadmates from ME2 are dead.

Possibly, or the ship crew from ME2 are all dead (save joker and chakwas from their plot armor).

Incidentally, I just finished my final run through of ME2 last night and only lost 6 of the ship crew. Apparently Overlords mission length or structure had something to do with that. Always thought you could only "lose" the entire ship crew or none at all.

I'm glad they have a "numerous" mode and that deaths would effect Shepard's pysche, so my failthrough should have some impact on ME3 story.

There is going to be a comic for people to choose what happens. That was just a demo so people could have a choice between ash or kaidan.

I doubt it just be for the demo, I've tried numerous mode and it has no effect on the demo game. It'll be a feature in-game.

Lol you have a failthrough too, in mine only Morinth (yes, it IS a failthru) and Kasumi lived. Along with grunt in tank.

Lol Morinth for the lose!  I've started my failthrough, but my plan is to only have Zaeed and Morinth alive, want it to be the worst failthrough ever.

This.  In the second part of the demo, I was hoping to see what impact choosing numerous would have, i.e. who would be there in place of Wrex and Garrus.  Didn't work.

Ok as I hinted in my OP, I'm curious... who was the VS in your numerous mode playthrough and was you Male or Femshep?

I'm curious as to whether it'll be like ME2 default (opposing sex member survived) or what I define as true worse playthrough scenario in that the opposing sex member was left behind.

Also yes, considering it is in the demo and thus nothing about the profiling makes a difference in the demo, I imagine it will be in the game.

Ash/Kaidan choice is a 'Paragon' playthrough in which only the VS died with Numerous being mostly 'Renegade/Default' with a high bodycount. That is what I'll wager it on.

Edit: Ooh didn't spot Novinha's post, hmm, so they were there in your Numerous playthrough?

Take it Mordin and Kirrahe was there too?

As for who would be there in Wrex place, that'll be Wreav because that is whom is leader of Clan Urdnot if you didn't recruit Wrex in ME or killed him on Virmire

I was femshep in Numerous mode and it was Kaiden that turned up. I was hoping Wrex would also be changed but I guess that be too much memory for the demo to stick another character in his place.

Ash/Kaiden choice, not sure if it'll be a pure paragon run, more a mixture of paragon and renegade choices like default ME2. Wrex and Rachni queen will probaly be dead like default ME2. Maybe not death of ME2 characters, but Legion being given away to cereberus instead of being killed. Grunt still in his tank.

But yeah, it'll be interesting what Bioware has in store for numerous mode.

But one of my Shepards deliberately got the aliens on his crew killed. Hey, Garrus, go through those pipes! It felt bad, but I wanted to have a pro-human, pro-cerberus save ready to import just to make my second play-through more interesting.

That is a choice you made as a gamer, that wasn't the choice available in-game, all death in SM are accidental so it'll just be regarded as Shepard was stupid.

Well, Shepard also never talked to the aliens.  Kelly kept telling him that they wanted to talk to him, but he didn't care about their plights.  He deliberately ignored them, so in a way, he knew he was putting them at risk.  He took the time to talk to and help out his human crew.

Anyway, I guess selecting "numerous" on top of a "colonist" "sole survivor" background will make for one very, very sad Shepard.  Or maybe he'll be used to people around him dying and handle it better.
