I'd prefer any combination of ME2 squadmembers over the prothean and the sexbot.

Well, from ME2 Kasumi, Thane, Legion. I wouldn't mind getting Wrex too. Couldn't care less about VS, the Vegetarian, the Sexbot and Tali.

I wanted to have these characters from ME2 back
1.Samara
2.Jack
3.Thane
4.Miranda
5.Legion

Mordin I like him off the squad.
I really don't give a cr@p about Jacob T., Zaeed, or Kasumi.

I hate the Prometheus and all I know about him is that his name keeps popping up.
I hate FEMBOT EDI. Dumb!
I Hate the Jersey Shore Juice Head know as Vega, and Snooki Chobot.

I'd rather have any of the 5. ME2 characters over Kaidan or Ashley, and Tali um yeah I don't care about her. Liara I wish she was confined to the ship. It makes room for the 5 ME2 character.

I only saved Morinth on my game file that I'm going around trying to p!ss everyone off and make it the worst ending in ME3. I even got Udina on the Council and he wouldn't let me meet with the Council and my Specter status wasn't reinstated

Given what I know of ME3 I'm fairly sure I'm not going to give it a great rating like 1 and 2, due to how it treats some of my favorite cast members.
*Samara* *Thane* *Kelly* *Jack* *Miranda*

I think the best cases you can make are for Legion, Mordin, Grunt and Jack.

Thane is dying, so I could certainly see him not showing up; Morinth/ Samara have seperate lives, things to do; Kasumi and Zaeed are hired specifically for the ME2 mission; and Jacob and Miranda are Cerberus, so the Alliance may not want them serving on a ship.

I would have liked to see Jack more.  She softens up a bit whether you decide to romance her or not and I think she could have had an interesting place on the ship: plus, for those that romanced her, it would be a nice return.  Her position as a vanguard is also lacking in the core squad.  Legion was just fun, as was Mordin, and why wouldn't Grunt follow you?  It seems that he would have followed you into any glorious battle.

Personally I would have liked the LI's return. Garrus, Tali, Jack, Liara, Kaiden/Ashley, Miranda, Thane, and Jacob. Would have made sense to me. Only problem is more than half of them can die in the suicide mission and that doesn't leave alot of room for the new people or Biowares want to return the squad to a smaller more relatable bunch. Still that squad would have ruled.

Thane Krios. I'm /pissed/ that he will not be a returning squad mate. He was a LI for gods sake.

You and me both.

I don't care what the excuses are. At the very least, love interests should be on the squad.

I think BioWare shot themselves in the foot when it comes to ME2 with the suicide mission. It created too many variables and there were already so many squadmates to account for. We have to pay for their lack of foresight by losing out on our favorites. It sucks and will make the game a lot less enjoyable than it could have been.

Miranda - Overload and Warp (plus she was a very popular LI)
Legion - Tech Skills plus Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles
Zaeed - He and my Shepard are cut from the same cloth.

Miranda and Legion seemed so plot essential to ME 2. And their plot importance didn't really get fully resolved, so I thought they'd be back. What I really wanted though was an option to pick on squadmate from ME 2 to 'recruit' if you will at the beginning of the game. That would have made a LOT of people happy, I think.

At least some of ME2 squad members should be on the Normandy to talk with you, even if you can't have them in battle with you, like Mordin working in the lab, Miranda staying with Shepard to help against Cerberus etc.

But Bioware ****ed up everything, I don't need Edi or the prothean or even Vega, this is really lame.

I agree.  I was hoping that ME3 would strengthen some of the ties created in ME2, but damn this is really disappointing.

Objectively, I can't see how Miranda isn't a main character.  Like stated above, having a former Cerberus operative working with the Alliance would've added a lot of tension to the story.  Plus, as previously stated, she was almost impossible to kill!

I also was hoping for Legion and Jack (my canon LI) beyond whatever small parts they have (I didn't read any spoilers).

While there's a case to be made for most of the ME2 squad returning to their duties/being busy/helping their own people, I kind of wonder what Thane and Jack are off doing. They're both out of loose ends, and I don't quite get why they're not tagging along with Shepard.

Though I'm sure I'll see what they are up to in the story.

I'm not certain of specifics, but I have heard that all of the ME2 squad mates will be appearing in ME3.  Some as Squad mates again, and others where they will accompany you on specific missions.  (For instance Miranda.  I hear she's only going to be involved with you on a mission or 2....and if you romanced her, there is supposed to be some way to continue on with that).

My preference would be

1. Mordin - Loved his character
2. Zaeed - Badass!
3. Kasumi - Likable character
4. Miranda
5. Grunt
6. Legion

Jack, Samara, Thane, Jacob, I didn't really care about, I guess their characters just don't appeal to me as much.

I agree with OP, but Mordin would be better off not on the squad. He could do a lot more.

Admittedly, I already know more about ME3 than I want to know at this point, but this contradicts everything I've heard so far.  Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't heard that anyone from ME2 is available as a permanent member.

Hope I'm wrong and you're right!

Legion, Jacob, Miranda, Grunt, Samara(depending on if you released her from her oath), Thane(if his disease didn't kill him), Jack, and Mordin should be permanent. I can only see Zaeed and Kasumi leaving, they are guns for hire type people so they would probably leave after the mission was done.

Miranda and Legion.

Miranda at least for me, have nowhere else to go as she always resigns from Cerberus and will probably need protection (TIM ain't the one let her walk away from it easily). Also game mechanics wise Ash/Vega and Kaidan/Miranda fills same roles. If VS is Kaidan you will lose very good support character in your team.

It don't seem like anyone should be leaving you. If you talk to them after beating the main story it seems like they are all still loyal and willing to fight for you. I hope they explain why they aren't with me in ME2. What exactly is the time frame between ME2:Arrival DLC and ME3 anyway?

I'd even be okay with not picking up your mates until later on in the game.

Considering the story opens on earth it's logical to assume most of the ME2 crew wouldn't have just gone to earth with you to hang out. But not being able to get them back at all? Weak.

To assume that the current squad list is a result of fan feedback is a fallacy through and through. The reason BioWare makes a squad list is not because some characters are popular, but because they make sense for the story of the game.

Besides, there's always DLC.

Since the game is gold, I guess there's no point in beating a dead horse... not that I am dissatisfied with the current squad listing (on the contrary, it makes the most sense). Regardless, I think Legion would have made a more suitable replacement for EDI as he is invested in the fight against the Reaper menace and not just the Collectors (which all of the ME2 squaddies save for Garrus and Tali focused solely on as opposed to both them and the Reapers). All the others have their own niches to fill.
