I think i have tried installing and re installing 4 diffrerent drivers and I still get this message.

Failed to initialize the physics system software, Please ensure you have and updated version of the physx system software installed.

I have done clean installs first of the new nvidia beta drivers then i went with 285.62 and 285.79 .. also used CCcleaner in safe mode.

Here are my specs.

Win 7  64 bit service pack 1
Intel core 2 Duo E8400 3ghz
Gskill 4gb DDR2 800mhz.
Quad SLI Gtx 295

my version of the game is from Steam.

I have tried running the game with one and quad sli its always the same.  By the way I  was able to play the game perfectly when i first got it.

Seems like those beta drivers did something to my system cause Metro 2033 gets frozen on the first screen you see when I start the game. but I am able to play batman arkham city nearly perfect with quad sli enabled.  So I really dont know what gives maybe its the new nvidia drivers that dont want to work with those two games??

oh and yes I already tried re installing the game. lol

nVIDIA hasn't chosen to produce any usable drivers for Mass Effect, 1 or 2, for quite some time. You will need the 258-something old drivers. I can't help with Metro whatever; never had any interest in it.

Check your actual version of physx installed and see if it match the version you are supposed to get with the new drivers.

You may also disable sli, some past issues with it and ME2.
