Isn't there post endgame play? Wouldn't that preclude Shep getting killed?
There isn't.

But no, I'd say Anderson will be more similar, Hackett doesnt seem to have a role in 3. Anderson will be the commander on the ground while Shepard is running around getting alliances. And no I dont think Shepard is necessarily going to die in the end.
And Horatio was fighting from a position of strength to begin with, he had a vertran navy behind him, vs the French which had just been rapidly built and conscripted.

Assuming that British history was taught in-depth to those of us who aren't british?

regardless of the country, it's one of the greatest naval battles and should be taught regardless
Even if it was, I likely wouldn't remember it. I haven't even looked at a schools history book since 1997. <.<

changing my thread some, because i sorta misworded the thread. Do you you think Shepard will go down, in a "Trafalgar" type battle?
First of all its world history. Turning point that force Napolean to look at Europe and Russia rather than Britian/North America. And I'm not British, just history buff. Hence me trying to educate some of you. History is interesting, dont know what its going to do for me in the future but for now.
And yes, the game is going to end in a huge space battle, apart from that I dont understand your clarification. If your trying to compare it to a historical battle Waterloo would be a much better. No alliances really for Trafalgar, dont just assume navy = space warfare, different beasts.
In Waterloo Napolean was well on his way to reconquering his empire but the combined forces of europe, lead by the British, united against him and destroyed his forces.

No, "Space Jesus" is The Silver Surfer.
Shepard is the space version of that dude who found that book under the rocks that makes people come to your house to wash your dishes.

Personally I'm sticking with Waterloo, D-Day doesnt quite fit, I dont know how you geurilla warfare reapers except by hiding, no trenches,

think about it....shepard is one lucky s.o.b. like Nelson, he is a inspirational leader, that commands respect. disobeys orders to win the day and specializes at his task. I really think Shepard is going to have a fate like Nelson, and a "Trafalgar" type batle will happen toward the end of ME3.
I hope the ideal ending as far as the fate of the galaxy goes, is one in which Shepard pays the ultimate price and loses his own life while saving the galaxy.

I'm American and know who Horatio Nelson is. We do learn about the Napoleonic Wars in American schools, and Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar is part of the lesson. If you are from the US, don't use nationality as an excuse for your ignorance.
Horatio Nelson is the British Naval Commander who defeated the French in the Battle of Trafalgar for you people who didnt listen in History class. He won a brilliant decisive victory against the french destroying their navy completely. He was however injured durring the battle and won. He is remember as a brilliant strategist and commander.
I would just add that he was mortally wounded. He was told that he had won the battle as he lay dying, and his last words were "Thank God I've done my duty."
