The auto dialogue has been explained?

Yes, you have been told that they left bits out due to the fact it was a demo and there is a lot more diologue in the Sur'Kesh section

I think bioware pm'd someone saying the intro is the same as it is in the demo. so. yeah.

Thats cool. I just want to know if the whole game will have large amounts of auto dialogue.

I hope not. I think there will be more auto dialogue but hopefully not as much as the intro.

If Sur'kesh, the FULL version of it has anything to say about it(watch the leaked beta, not demo), then no.

Sure, there were some auto- dialogue there, but they were very short and in the middle of combat, well, not combat exactly, like the point in which Shep checks in on Mordin and gives authorization for the pod to move along.

Sorry, but are we talking about the same beta leak here? Because (apart from one investigate-wheel) we get more auto dialogue and two-option-choices.

Have you watched it in action mode or something? like here? (Or as it's originaly seen here)

The full Sur'kesh level has almost no auto dialogue, 'specially not in the hub area.

Err in the leaked demo that I just re-watched, the Earth section was exactly the same, and I saw... two dialogue wheels in all of the extended Surkesh level.

Link me the video you've just watched then, I can't find any leaked beta footage that's outside of action mode.

Did you watch the video I posted on page 4 of this thread?

I've seen th beta of sur'kesh in rpg mode, and there's still a ton of auto dialogue. I don't know what you guys are watching, but it's not the same video apparently.

I posted a leak-video that says "RPG-mode", and it is exactly like the demo (just longer).

Yeah bro I just watched it again there isn't that much auto dialogue. Shepard says about two things without player input.

Just watched the link to the beta on page 4 and whilst it's not quite as bad as i feared, there's still a lot of auto-dialogue and a pitiful 2 choices in all the wheels.

I'm watching the video right now, so far I see more player input than what others are implying.

Um.. Yeah. Go watch it again then. Truth is we need some clarification from Bioware on this. We were able to roleplay our shepards in me1 and me2, with the exceptions of lotsb and arrival, the question is will we be able to do so in me3? Because judging by the demo and the leak, and the script leak, it looks like Shepard is his/her own person now. This is very troubling for them to pull off a stunt like this in the last game.

Yeah...if it's a size issue, that's fine, but when I watched both Action mode and RPG mode, there was still alot of auto-dialogue in the intro.  If they had to cut that out, that would be a great thing to clarify.  I honestly figure the majority of the game still lets you play the Shepard you want, but I still want to know if there's any more you can say or do in the intro.

I think he is talking about the demo. Demo's on xbl can only be 2 gigs.

If all my Sheps suddenly grow their own single personality, it sort of takes away the replay value won't it?

I hope most of what we're seeing is Action Mode and not RPG mode. I want my dialogue trees and I dont' want to watch someone else's Shep finish my games. I find it hard to believe that they were going to go to the trouble of creating mode like Action and RPG that were designed to either increase or decrease player input into the story if you were just going to strip a lot of the player input out of the story in the first place.

It's rpg mode, try to understand that. If it were action mode, you wouldn't be choosing any of the two options at all. We're talking about rpg mode which has TONS of auto dialogue. Lots of people are worried about it, a quick search of mass effect auto dialogue will show you that. It's frustrating to have a character that we've molded suddenly taken and turned into a specific canonical character for the final installment. This reeks of appealing to shooter fans who don't care about roleplaying characters. I guess action mode wasn't enough.

Well, that is the thing with this RPG/action-mode. They had to canonize Shepard for action-mode, and RPG-mode can't deviate too much from that or else the devs have to work more on alternate paths...and I think they wanted to cut corners in that regard...
