Ashley is dull, racist, and only slightly prettier than she was in the other games.

Liara is multi-faceted, compelling, and crazy hot. Plus, she's the Shadow Broker. Refer to Jack Nicholson's line in "A Few Good Men" regarding women with power.

I never got that feeling, ever. I'd call Jack a liar, but he'd probably find me and kill me in my sleep.

Haha, seriously? Well, you'd probably know better than I. It's not a situation that I've found myself in. Well, there was one time...
I think I would totally get my jollies, but that's me.

People try and defend Ashley because of the emotional attachment they have towards her, but what I say is devoid of all emotion. It simply is. She's a racist.

agree 100%

here's a tip for free also...

if a person has Ashley as their avatar do not try to engage them in a logical discourse regarding whether or not Ashley is racist. Ashley could have her boot on the neck of an alien baby and her fans would look the other way and pretend it wasn't happening.....

Even though one of my non-canon Shepards, an Infiltrator, romanced Ashley, I'd say that in retrospect Liara is definitely more compelling: being an alien who knew barely anything about socialization since ME1, seeing her develop is very... interesting from a story perspective.

My canon Shepard already chose Kaidan over Ash, and romanced Miranda in ME2. If Liara (or Tali?) turn out to be better in ME3, I'd dump Miranda straight off the bat.

Besides, Miranda can't have children.

That's terrible :(
Also, Shepard can't have children with Tali either you know. Just saying. And all of your children would come out as asari with Liara.

If you really want kids that don't end as a blue spitting image of Liara, you need to go for:

- Ashley
- Jack
- Miranda (and lets hope some Salarian can fix her baby-making-stuff )

Or create a fem!Shep and hope the dying-brought-back-stunt didn't make her infertile:
- Kaidan
- Jacob
- Vega

Does it really matter in the end? This isn't the Sims so any kids Shepard has with his/her LI will only exist in your own headcannon anyway. Unless there's some kind of happily-ever-after epilogue, but that seems more fitting for a Dragon Age game than ME3.

Some people can't take a hint at sarcasm or a joke. Then again, the internet isn't really the best medium to get that across. The only reason I liked Miranda was because of her black hair and beautiful body. However, I came to realize that it's the character of Liara that's so attractive, and that beats Miranda's "Miss Perfection" attitude by a long shot.

Reconsider your comment. I WAS shallow. But not anymore.

^ It does matter if it's an optional event, Lauren.
Some guys / girls want the ultra-happy-sappy-ending with marriage & kids.

Although I like a proposal scene for the epilogue, I don't think Ashley will end pregnant. Doesn't fit to her to start something serious like that that early. Also think Kaidan won't make Shepard to a mother in ME3. ^^

Ow another ''my LI is better than yours'' thread. It's sad how quick people come in and flame both of them over opinions.

They're both great, I've got saves for both of them and enjoy both of them for their own reasons. I'll just leave it at that.

All Romances in ME suck.

Liara: Creepy stalker & grave/cradle robber

VS: Prefers job promotions over you

Tali: Just using you to regain her homeworld

Jack: Batcrap insane; may murder you in her sleep

Miranda: Likes you because she rebuilt your body and enhanced parts to her specifications so you're basically her expensive and personalized ******

Garrus: You're his only friend and you basically raped him

Thane: Mostly dead

Kelly: Does she even count?

Jacob: Do I even need to say anything?

Oh if we're playing that game...Garrus isn't even attracted to you. You basically drag the poor, terrified fellow to bed and even then he's not that keen on losing his only friend.

Still incredibly shallow. All you seriously got from Miranda was that she had a 'Miss Perfection' attitude?

Stop trolling me with facepalm pics and insults. You've got your own perspective on Miri, and so do I.

I romanced Ashley in 1 but I actually went for Tali in mass effect 2. my team has always been garrus and tali so it was interesting for me to explore her character emotionally. I hope i can continue the romance in 3

I can understand you not being an Ashley fan but she is not racist.

"I can't tell the aliens from the animals"

She's xenophobic.  You can't deny that.  It's a character flaw of hers, that my Shepard would, personally, want to help her resolve.  I'm hoping that we get to help Ashley become more accepting of aliens in ME3 tbh, it'd make for a nice character arc.

And as for random DB above...I can't believe you'd dump a woman just because she can't give you kids. That's shallow as hell.

I like Ashley, I wish I could still have her, but I need Kaidan. He's mai "brah", there's nobody else to take that spot and no, not even that one guy from Team Dextro is able to fill the role.

So my pick would be Ashley.:P

DB?

I didn't say that I'd dump Miranda because of her infertility, and nor would I do that for any woman. I said specifically that if Liara is more interesting in ME3, I would dump Miranda.
