Ok so I'm stupid.

WHo, where, and how do i make health and magic potions etc?

You need to have someone in your party with the Herbalism skill. You can click the Herbalism skill from the skills menu (and it is already likely on your character's hot bar) -- there will be a list of recipes you know in the crafting menu, and you just select the one you want to make and create it. You will need certain reagents for the crafting to be successful, however; these will be listed in the crafting window as well. For instance, you need deep mushrooms and elfroot for healing poultices and lyrium dust to make lyrium potions.



Keep an eye out for new recipes on merchants. You'll be able to make better potions with new recipes. Also keep in mind that each potion requires a certain skill level in Herbalism and it would be best to invest at least one character with all four levels of Herbalism.

Injury Kit Recipe - Quartermaster, Bartender

Greater Injury Kit Recipe - Alarith

Why do you need so many injury kits anyways? Just go back to Camp and everybody is automatically healed of injuries. I find that I usually pick up more injury kits than I can use and this is playing on Nightmare difficulty.
