It seems a bit strange, that they couldn't think about Kaidan dead. But to be fair, I can understand why they could think that, when  we look at the bsn. Jacob, niet, Thane, meh, Garrus, everyone likes him, so pretty much impossible to see the fangirls. Kaidan, they are all there.

From what I heard, nothing actually happens between James & Ashley. It's just flirting mostly, and they get drunk together, but nothing romantic/sexual happens as far as I'm aware.

I think if Shepard wasn't romancing Ashley (My Shepard), James and Ash might get together closer to the end of the game. If not then they're at least on their way.

 Here's my thought: (I am so sorry if the spolier-text doesn't work.. this is my second try at posting this, seems I am failing miserably)


In DA2, if you failed the romance with Fenris, or didn't ever start - he defaulted to a suggested romance with Isabela. Hawke found out though various sordid banter if both members were present in the party.

What if - this is evidence that the playthrough being leaked is being played with a failed, or non-existant Vegamance? What if it is defaulting to a romance with Ashley, because the player didn't correctly initiate it - OR it hadn't been introduced to this particular version of the game?

I am fully aware of the straw-grasping going on here... but I refuse to believe Bioware put THAT much time and effort into James Vega, only to keep him from Sheperd. Unless he is a lead in to the next Mass Effect work.

He can't die in ME3, so that is possible.
He's also a character to help new players get settled, so that itself justifies putting effort into him.

I also thought so. He cooks some food for her and they get drunk, but I don't recall something romantic going on. If there is real romance... no no, BioWare can't make two characters ditch femShep for another squadmate in one game, right? Right???

That has't been proven yet .There is still hope. Vega is new to Mass Effect but Joker has been there  sense day 1 so for the last game why not add him as a LI.
