If you're talking about the guy from the spoiler group, he hasn't exactly had the game very long. No one has.

Still....*puts comforting hand on shoulder*

Edit: And the same thing could have been said about Garrus in ME2 before Shepard asked about how turians 'prepare for high-risk missions'. Just for perspective.

From what I know James Vega has an awesome personality. If anything he is the ultimate bro, so I will enjoy bringing him along!

I don't get why they don't just release who is and who isn't. It's not like this is some huge plot spoiler. All it takes is a post to put us out of our misery. Jeez.

I also said that exact thing in the Varric thread and regretted it immediately.

I was looking at that thread, though he hasn't exactly gotten very far in the game or has perused him has he?

But I think we could all use a hug! This week has been an roller coaster for us.

He's the first companion you get along with the VS. He's attractive and has an awesome personality. He has a vested interest in Shepard. He's voiced by FPJ. He was designed with the female player base in mind. There are two new female LIs and just one male (unless James is an LI).

So unless they wrote him to dangle in front of our faces, I don't get it.

Exactly that! If a single straight FemShep left Kaidan on Virmire and didn't romance anyone in ME2, she... doesn't have anyone to romance if James isn't an option, lmao. What even?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Exactly; I don't see the point in it either. The Shepard I specifically made for him actually did kill off Kaidan in ME1; so even if she had a second chance to romance Kaidan in 3 he wouldn't be around to do so.

I don't see why they wouldn't make Vega an LI, especially with the amount of time and character developement they seemed to put into him.

Exactly! It is why I still have a thread of hope that James Vega will be a LI. A straight MaleShep, even if all his potential LI's are dead he has Diana and Liara to crawl to, and a staight femshep would have no one? Unless she decides she is going to romance one of the females instead? It doesn't add up to me.

At the very least if Femshep doesn't get Vega I will be less upset if she gets someone. If she doesn't get any new male LI I will be upset.

Exactly! My Femshep killed Kaidan on Virmire for RP purposes. As It made sense for the character. Then in ME2 my Shepard was still in mourning because of Kaidan because she was starting to develop feelings for him in ME1 but because he was with the salarians she felt saving the person guarding the bomb was the most logical choice and she wasn't going to risk the mission because of her feelings.

So now my Shepard will be forever alone unless she romances one of the female options? *sigh*

It's funny, 'cause even though I'm a huge Kaidan fan, I'd actually save Ashley if I had to choose.  She's got a family back home who's relying on her.  Kaidan doesn't.

I agree. At this point, I want to know so I can just deal with the disappointment (which I guess is likely based on new sucky news? Everyone seems sad again) and move on. 

Also, I guess I don't see much point in the secrecy anymore with the space copies being in the picture anyway.

Highlight for Vega thoughts and possible romance spoilers:

Sources:
1. SA guy, who proved he was playing Mass Effect 3 by posting screenshots, said Vega doesn't care to get involved in the romance stuff.
2. Klace said Vega wasn't an LI. Though, Chris Priestley said that he was lying about some of what he said. Most people think it's the Kaidan and MShep conversation, though, not Vega.
3. The demo files do not have Vega as a romance.
4. Someone with a space edition copy said that Vega isn't romanceable.
5.
The older leak script had an option to tell Kelly you're with Vega.
However, this was removed in the newer script. In the newer script, the
Vega "romance" is an admittance of feelings at the end of the game if you press Vega about it.

(I'm guessing the order, but clear there's something between them)
V: It's been an honor serving with you, Shepard.
S: I think we both know it's been more than that.
V: Yeah... I just.
S: You're a good man and a terrific soldier.
Whatever happens... I'm glad I got to know you, James.
V: That means a lot to me. You mean a lot to me.

So, what does this mean? Presumably you can flirt with Vega beforehand, but there's no actual romance during the core of the game. At the end, you can get James to admit that he has feelings for Shepard.

Who knows if they kiss, hug, etc after that. Possibly they don't do anything except exchange some emotional words.

As for making women blush and James being created with female players in mind - I suspect that there's an exchange of flirting between female Shepard (probably male Shepard too, but female Shepard for sure) and Vega, but no actual romance/relationship until the end final battle conversation as James wants to keep things focused on the mission.

You know what? I am so good with that. I don't even care if he's not a real romance. As long as I get that with Payton Shepard, I'm set. It's more than I've ever gotten before with the character I wanted, hahaha.
