James Vega Anime.
That would also be a deal breaker for me.
On another note, it's good to see your awesome avatar again. I missed it.

I think the fact that James wasn't a romance option worked out pretty well. The occasional flirting and teasing between him and FemShep was great, especially since nothing much came of it.
But I don't play femShep, and his bro-friendship is only so-so. He suffers from Jacob syndrome, except that he can actually be an interesting character if given the chance.

I'm so annoyed with Bioware. I liked James, but not enough, and a lack of a romance is the reason. The problem is that he doesn't have a back story like the rest of the characters, so he has to shine in one game, and that's hard when they limit your interactions with him. What's worse is that ME 3 doesn't treat conversations like the previous games in the series: you can only have so many of them with certain characters and then it's just Zaeed level stuff. I got to see James as a jokester and a badass, but I never got see him truly vulnerable. I hate that I probably never will because I can't romance him at all. Being able to romance him would have made him a much better character, IMO.
*Sigh*
Same here...

Well, I don't know about that "I like to follow internet generalities like a tool" poster is trying to do, but...
I felt it was a low blow that Vega wasn't an romance option.

GAH! *Dodges thrown tomatoes* I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry! It's just, the fantasy author in me really connected with the artisticness of it. The final scene after the credits (I still don't see a problem with using stock images if they work) was very reminiscent of a classic fantasy trope. The idea of an ancient culture more advanced than your own. We see it with Atlantis in real life. The Numenoreans in the Lord of the Rings. The Star Child reminded me of the sorta mythical qualities of both the Reapers and Vigil. And while the 3 choices thing was bunk, it fit with the Star Child line. It was cool to see the choices played out. Destroy was Anderson's way, Control was The Illusive Man's way, Synthesis was Shepard's way (or not).
Some of the plot holes are plot holes, but simply things that needed to be explained better. Why didn't the Star Child open the Citadel in ME1? Maybe he couldn't. The Protheans had altered the signal sent to the Keepers. Perhaps he couldn't change it back. Maybe he was waiting for someone to come along and change things up and simply allowed the change to stay. After all he gave up pretty easily once you made it there. He could have just left you on the one deck to die.
All of the fleets left in the Sol System? Well, sometimes war has crappy consequences. My own point of how the Turians and Quarians starving? Hopefully the Quarian world-ships survived. Sucks, but not a plot-hole.
Here *is* where there's a plot hole. How did ANY of your ground crew end up back on the Normandy? Normandy had dropped them all off on Earth.
Not a plot hole is Joker in the Relay network. It's weird and unexplained, sure. Also, he can't have been in the Charon relay since that's the first one to shoot 'the beam' and he was shown AFTER it had sent it's signal. Which means not only had he left the battle early but was somewhere on the other side of the Galaxy in the Relay network.
Still, I understand (and the more time that passes since I played it the more I agree) the need to change the ending. Too many unexplained things.

Actually, as much as I personally dug that, I didn't like that it was automatic and without input.

I was sad. I wanted to work out all my angst with him. After Thane waswritten offdied, I didn't have a...shoulder..to cry on.
Okay, we all knew Thane was dying since the first game. That coupled with his being able to die during the end of ME2 required a diminished role in ME3.
I'm not happy about it either, but there it is.

Was Vega inteded to be an LI originally? I remember everyone was saying he was an LI, so I'm wondering where that came from. Was it in the leaked script? i was severely disappointed when I learned the rumors weren't true

@Mesina...it's funny. I just took Garrus and Liara with me for that. Garrus apparently likes them too. Only one extra line from him about her catching the jokes quicker now.
I think Vega is human version of Garrus.

Hey guys, would someone be able to tell me around what part of the story Traynor tells you that James wants to talk, or you get that email from him? I'm about to start the Priority: Citadel mission and haven't triggered the N7 talk yet. I think i may have missed it.
It's after Citadel mission.
