(here is the vega fan thread, this is my last version of the ending. I did a Kaidan one and a Garrus one. Since i am not sure how Sheps an Vega's romance would have gone i tried to keep it to the norm, or familiar hope you enjoy it though)
It was time for the final push, their last stance against the reapers. Every one stood and looked at the beam in front of them, they knew that this was it, they knew that if no one made it, there would be no more hope.
When the order was given, every shoilder ran towards that beam with determination, none of them faultered. Shepard, James, and Kaidan soon took the lead of the pack striving to achieve what they have wanted to since the beginning, to destroy the reapers and send their asses into hell. Seeing the small army begin to travel harbinger let out a machanic growl as it began to fire it's laser at them.
With the first laser, it took three Alliance shoilders right from beside Shepard, then the next took out a mako and four more men. It didn't seem llike any one was getting any where fast, no one was making ground. Then harbinger turned causing the ground to shake as it looked directacly at Shepard, letting out another growl before shooting once more.
The beam landed about ten feet in front of Shepard and it continued to move forward to her position, James's eyes widen as his mouth gapped open. His heart began to race as every thing seem to be happening in slow motion, even the distance screams became nothing more then back ground noise.
His pace quickened as he tried to catch up to her, pushing soilders and shooting cannibals out of his way.
"LOLA! SHEPARD!"
Reaching out for her, he felt a firm grip on his bicep, Kadian had grabbed his arm trying to pull him away from the blast, but it was too late. They were all in the cross fire as it sent them flying backwards knocking them both out cold.

Kaidan's eyes fluddered opened, he wasn't sure how much time has passed, but he knew he needed to get in contact with the Normandy. Slowly he began to stand, using his assault riffle for support. He clentched his jaw as pain began to shoot threw his body, feeling like it was litered with needles.
"Normandy come in.... we need... an extraction"
He said weekly as he took in his surroundings.
The line was staticy causing him to shake his head and pound his ear peice with the palm of his hand.
Looking at the piles of rubble around him, he began to wonder if every thing Shepard strived for was for nothing, if every thing they have tried to accomplish was for nothing.
Hearing a grown behind him, he looked over his shoulder cautiousily as he lifted his rifle. Taking a deep breath he turned, gun raised ready to shoot, but when he saw who it was, he put his rifle down and began to walk over to Vega.
"Normandy we need an extraction, come in..."
Kaidan looked up to the skies as he offered his hand to the large man, James just stared at it, his face was showing signs of giving up, disappointment, and to be honest he wanted to punch Kaidan into next week. If he would have just let him go then maybe he could have gotten to Shepard in time.
"I could have saved her..."
James said in almost a whisper, Kaidan looked at him his eyes narrowed slightly. He didn't like this any better then he did but sitting around blaming your self wasn't the answer.
"Then what?"
Looking up at Kaidan, James glare matched the biotic.
"Do you think she would have wanted you dead beside her? do you think that would have made her happy? She knew there were bigger things at stake here, she doesn't need you to make a sacrifice out of your self."
James's just waved Kaidan's hand away, before he slowly got back up to his feet, looking around at all the destruction. He almost didn't want to look where he last saw Shepard, but he did non the less and when he did he became confused. There were multipal bodies of alliance shoilders, but Shepards body wasn't among them.
"Where's.... Shepard?"
He asked, agony playing at his voice.
The question made Kaidan look around, and he couldn't believe it him self. The beam hit her, he saw it but her body... was... shaking his head he began to wonder if it was even possible for Shepard to survive and continue forth.
"I... I don't know"
James looked at Kaidan and then back towards the beam, he knew that Shepard had a little bit of crazy in her and the image of it made him smile, laugh even, it even gave him hope that maybe just maybe...
" Maybe Lola is a bit loco."
Kaidan couldn't help but laugh slightly as he looked back towards the beam. If any one was able to survive a blast and continue on it would be Shepard no question.
"Shore party *static* mandy, whats your position?"
Lifting up his finger, James pressed in his ear piece,
" We're by the conduit, seems calm... for now."
" ETA five minu...*STATIC* shepard al*static* ight?"
" I hope so... would hate not seeing body like that again"
James smile grew as Kaidan looked at him eyebrow raised. The tank just shrugged him off as he began to follow the beam up with his eyes. As he exhauled, James hoped to god that she made it.
As they waited, Kaidan and James searched the bodies that were laying arund them , looking for any signs of life, but the only thing they could offer was comfort, giving them hope that their families would be able to see tomorrow.
It was strange how ever, that harbingar retreated, taking it's puppets with him, but if it thought it killed every one then, what would be the point in staying around?
Hearing a faint whistle in the sky, both soilders looked up to see the Normandy coming in for a landing. They began to walk towards the ship until they begun to hear a funny "wong" sound from the beam behind them.
"Jeff, we must hurry, the conduit is over loading and the blast could become... proplomatic"
Joker looked at EDI strangly, his eyebrow raised as she sounded more like Mordin but then again maybe it was best that she spared them the details.
" Hey could you guys pick it up a bit? cause apparently we are now in a red zone of total destruction... like we weren't before but I am sure you get the jiff of it."
James looked over at Kaidan as he pointed back towards the normandy with his thumb.
"Does he always have to state the obvious?"
his comment sounded more annoyed then any thing as Kaidan shook his head and snickered.
"You'll get used to it."
As the ramp lowered, James and Kaidan were ready to board the Normandy until the sky suddenly became brighter. Slowly, they began to turn around to see the beam palsating, they couldn't look away from it... It was hypnotyzing.
Joker tried to tell them to hurry their asses up but they were too distracted to pay any attention. Soon, the light extended outward like there was a giant explotion with out the noise, the chaos. Covering their eyes with their forearms, the light became to hard to bare causing them to close their eyes.
Soon after, the light just diminised, causing them to lower their arms as they tried to focus their eyes. The once clear path that laid before them was now full of rubble from the Citadel.
James's heart sank, realizing the worst must have happened. Kaidan looked at him sympathaticly as he tried to guide him up the ramp, putting a comforting hand on the large man's shoulder but James wasn't having it.
Shrugging Kaidan off, he just got inraged as he screamed to the heavens, as his fisted hand made contact with the side of the Normandy. The hope that James was once carrying was now lost...

Shepard laid in the debri unconscious, her breathing was none exsisting but suddenly her eyes shot opened as she began to gasp for air. She felt weak as she slowly took in her surroundings. Looking up she could see the moon, looking down on her, she... she was back on earth.
A small smile graced her face as she slowly began to sit up, but she then realized her arm was caught and her legs were trapped under a large piece of concrete. With her free hand, she tried to move the debri off of her but the pieces were to heavy and she was too weak.
Laying back down, she looked back up to the moon and she began to think on how she could get out of this mess.If she was back in london then maybe just maybe... closing her eyes memories of James began to flood her mind. They he looked at her, amde her feel, Sighing she let out a breath...
"James"
her voice was nothing more then a whisper as she slowly opened her eyes. Suddenly she began to hear static in her ear piece and the sound of James's voice...
Turning her head, Shepard began to wonder if he was close by, he had to be if she could hear him through the ear com.
Closing her eyes she gathered all her strenghth letting out a loud but weak yell hoping that he was in listening distance,
"JAMES!"

The hatch was about to close down but James stopped in his tracks, 'did some one just say his name?' he wondered as he slowly turned around looking back up at the rubble.
"Did... did you hear that?"
James looked at him as he began to walk forawrd, his eyes searching. Kaidan stepped up behind him trying to hear or figure out what he was talking about.
" I didn't ..."
"I am detecting vital signs within the rubble..."
EDI interrupted him,
She continued to explain but it seemed that was all James needed to hear as he continued to walk forward with determination.
"Shepard..."'
Kaidan just shook his head knowing that it couldn't be possible but then again look who it was.
Joker began to warn James that they don't have much time but it seemed his mind was already made up as he ignored the pilot completely.
" Where's it coming from EDI?"
EDI gave him the location as Joker reminded him of the time st-rant.
Any minute now the Alliance was going to come in and destroy every thing around them, even them if nessecary.
Walking up to the pile, James took a few deep breaths before letting out a low grown as he began to lift the pieces of rubble off her and then pushing them, or throwing them to the side.
Soon Shepard was visable, her armor was none existing, her skin was covered in blood, seeing her like this broke his heart. Pressing his hand over her cheek he spoke softly...
"Don't worry Lola, I'm going to get you out of here."
There was one last peice that was holding her down, keeping her from him, but no matter how hard he tried... he coudn't budge it enough to break her free. He was about to give up, ready to tell the normandy to just go, leave him.
He began to lower the heavy steal, but suddenly the weight was lifed off his shoulders. Looking over, he saw Kaidan standing there, holding the other side.
"What? you thought that I was going to give you all the credit for saving commander Shepard?"
He said alomost in a mocking tone and James couldn't help but chuckle as they both lifted it off of Shepard and moved it to the side allowing James to scoop her up in his arms.
"Trust me when I tell the story? it's gonna be all me."
Kaidan laughed as they began to walk back up to the ship,
"What ever you say Lieutenant"

Shepard's eyes slowly opened as she looked up to see James. A faint smile took over her lips as she lifted her hand, placing it on his cheek. The sudden graze startled him as he looked down upon her.
Leaning down he gave her a flitacious smile...
"You know, you didn't have to take off your clothes for me Lola"
Smiling, shepard began to laugh slightly
"well... if i knew it would... turn you on.... i would have... done it sooner"
James laughed as he continued to carry her into the Normandy.
"next time? lets go with a little less blood huh?"
Smiling down at her as she laughed weakly, her hand slowly fell from his cheek, her laugh slowly faded as she slipped back to unconciousness.

"EDI, get us out of here"
"please choice a destination...."
Joker looked over at EDI sitting beside him, he gave her a smile as she smiled back.
"that was a joke"
