It should come after Grissom Academy since he talks about Kahlee and Anderson. He also flat out says "no relation".

This just reminds me of a scene from Warehouse 13.  The hot, straight male lead  is introduced to a new gay side character. 

"Finally someone who'll appreciate my body!" the lead says and instantly whips off his shirt.  The side character jumps back and tells him to put his shirt back on.  The lead smiles and says 'Alright, but any time you wanna look..."

They respect each other. My Shepard and Vega sort of got off to a bad start, "renegade interrupt when leaving Earth, stow it!"

However, Vega warms up to Shep overtime and looks up to him as a mentor and a friend. There is banter between them, most noticably on Palaven, where Shepard teases Vega for breathing heavily after an intense fight - I thought that was funnyy.

That seems nice and it's yet another incentive to play as Sheploo for once, though FemShep got the breathing hard line too which made me lol. Thanks for answering my question.

Yeah James' response to the "bed's harder than it looks" line is very different when you're playing a male Shepard. It's quite entertaining.

I was playing last night, and heard Sanders when he brought up his dad, whose last name was Sanders.

Just come out of a play-session and I'm almost positive he said his father's name was Sanders. I guess he took his mother's maiden name. This was after Grissom Academy by the way.

Shepard: You know, that's gonna sting for a few days. You gonna be ready for action?
James: Sure, I'm not looking foward to slapping my armor back on but I'll manage. Hey - why don't we get matching?
Shepard: You mean, me getting an N7 tat?
James: Sure. Why the hell not?
Shepard: Already have one.
James: Yeah?
Shepard: Yeah. <Pulls left hoodie self to elbow. 'Unas Salus Victus' printed down the inside of his arm.>
James: Always wondered what that one was. I just thought that was decor.
Shepard: Nope. N7 marine motto. I had another one too for my unit. Was on my shoulder but it got burnt off.
James: Why? Got into a bad accident?
Shepard: Took a long walk of a short disintergrating ship.
James: ... Fun.
Shepard: Quite. See you back on the ship.
James: Later, Loco.

Add me to the list of people who were "meh" about Vega pre-game and then grew to like him. The flirting was fun! I have two single FemSheps, one will apparently pine for Joker for the rest of her (short, ahem) life, and I thought maybe I could romance someone new in ME3 (ME2 LI's did nothing for me), but apparently not. Hmph.

My Shepard got his cause a friend was buying, so he figured what the hell. Plus at the time he was the rookie, he kind of wasn't given a choice.
