After reading the past few pages, I really don't get why so many others do not like Vega. I see him as Shepard's protege. Then again that could be the Jack Daniels talking.

@chevyguy87 Kinda messed up the way he got pinned with the ridiculous Jersey Shore image early on in the promo. It's so narrow to think that any guy with muscles is like one of those cotton candy steroid-taking ******, pardon the language. And he's dark-skinned because of his heritage, not spray tanned.

I grew up on an army base and there are lots of Marines like him. Just built for the fight. I think he was one of the more easily identifiable and likeable characters in the game. And by far, the best looking.

I don't think reason for no talk here is because people don't like, but because he's not as popular as other characters.
Hell, I run appreciation thread of several characters and has far less activity there.
Most certain reason is because they ain't romance options.


Same for James.
There was a lot of activity when people were thinking he'll be one.
Kinda increased when we find out he wasn't so big demand to make him LI happen, but then it went downhill.
Plus, pretty sure endings are also a reason for that.


And reason why I'm not active here is because I'm not much active in character threads since I started to be on BSN and not sure why.
I am since last night a bit active on Ashley thread, but kinda losing interest to talk there now. And I don't know why.


And Conviction is out for long time and free, so pretty sure most of us read it.

Agreed, it also does not make matters any better that the developers claim that James is the "dumbest" character in the game. I like the fact that he is just an honest to goodness soldier, not a specialist or a famous person to his people, just a down to earth ground pounding soldier.

Exactly, he was just what the series needed. If they intended him to be a Jar-Jar Binks then they failed miserably. Turned a non-fangirl like me into one, then dropped me and my lady friends (and a few gents too) cold. Pretty wrong. Hell hath no fury, and all that.

But you see this a lot with developers when they get all purist about their "art", thinking the people who purchase their work are beneath them. Treating your fans with contempt is about as low as you can get as an artist. Not to say that you should bow to the demands of the masses, but this whole thing was done badly on so many levels, from the ending (whole other issue, but related IMO) to the character development, blatantly throwing away the time and emotional investment the players put into their characters.

They should have spent some time deepening each major character's backstory, like they did in both previous games, and giving James more depth by allowing him to be a LI, preferably for both men and women, since most humans seem to be bi in the future anyway. With the great work they did in ME2, it's doubly a shame the way this last one played out, especially for my man James. FPJ did such a good job on the voiceovers, but he would have given it a lot more if they'd given him better stories to work with.

I agree, I think being a LI gets people talking more, hopefully Bioware will get the hint from us

I think my lower activity is based on waiting for the extended cut DLC.  I know how you feel.  I've kind of stopped posting and reading every day too though I'm still logging in and checking way more then I ever have before.

I feel like the worst Mass Effect fan ever, not only did I not know that Conviction was out, but I didn't know about the Arrival either, which is sad really because I was buying the comic books *face palms self*

So if Bioware does make him a love interest, how would you guys like to see it happen?  I don't really have any set example in my head, I would just like more than one conversation where he says he likes/loves you and definitely want the making-love scene to cement it.

Hmmmm, good question. I'm not sure exactly what I want it go to like, but I know a few of the things i want added in -
1: That the flirting actually leads to a romance.
2: I would like to be able to learn a bit about James, maybe even help him sort through some of his issues.
3: I would love to be able to go one a first date with him.   Awww that could be so awesome.
4: A sweet and sexy love scene.
5: Maybe suprise him with a Tattoo
6: This is an option I want added for all romances, the ability to hug or kiss my LI whenever I want, and not wait for a cut scene.

I can't really think of anything else, but I think that it touches on most things.

Yeah, I'll keep the exact way he is with femshep now, but :

-I'll wish to see a loyalty mission like for the other characters in ME2 !
-The scene where he comes in Shep's cabin to talk about N7, with the end about the hard bed, have the possibility to take his hand before he leaves and make him stay :'))
-The scene he gets tattooed and blush when you ask if he would do something with all that flirting, have the option to commit with him, and maybe yeah to get that tattooe to prove him we love him

And yeah, have a date with him something like the one with Garrus...
