Voted in that poll. Pleasantly surprised by the results. I haven't poked my head in here before, but I always liked Vega. He had a fun personality, was useful on missions, and added a surprising amount of character. I also liked having a representative of the "regular" human soldiers since I'm not sure Kaidan or Shep counted by that point as anything near "regular".

Yes. I think that is also one of the main reasons why we like him so much, that and he is very hunky :)

Welcome to the club!

I was also surprised by the results of my poll, and the OP thread I started that inspired it. I was expecting to get flamed into the 22nd century, but there was a good mix. Lots more Vega supporters than I thought there were, which is nice.

I loved his character, and the eye candy was a plus. I can NOT seem to stop writing about him. You should check out my story (in my sig), it's not the usual Vega fic. I started it as a way to get deeper into his character, and so far it's been very well-received.

I like your signature, by the way. Here's something for you:

So we got to see some James in the Leviathan DLC demo. Still looks like an awful lot of dialogue, but I'm glad the squaddies are talking. Any thoughts?

And here's some James:

^LMFAO!

And yeah, I chuckled (as always) on Vega's and Garrus' banter. Definitely the squad I'll be bringing with me. Or maybe Kaidan...

Choices, choices.

Yeah, more than likely I would bring Garrus along with me and James. I love their banter the best.

Oooo, I haven't seen anything from the dlc yet, but anything with more Vega content is a win for me. :)

Same here.

The only majorly bad thing about this dlc is that I'm secretly harboring a hope that they've included a James romance in here too... and I'm pretty sure they didn't do that.  So, yeah. I'll be disappointed (somewhat) before I even get it if I do decide to buy it. :P

Here's a different Vega poll from AbsoluteApril.

Also, I started a Vega contest on deviantArt, but I'll extend it to FFN and BSN users, too. Lots of great responses wherever I post it. The focus is on Vega haters, but there's something for Vega lovers, too.

What do you all think a good prize for non-dA users would be? Something James-ey.

Cool, I'll have to listen to it!

I just interviewed Koobismo on Sunday for my next book. He's a REALLY cool guy, super helpful and funny.

Hello... (hello... hello...)

here's some Vega to liven up the room:

Posted Image

The description on this was really cute:

James Vega is good with kids.

Can't really help it when you're
that big; kids like big things they can climb onto and play with, so
Vega obliges, bench-pressing them as they grab a hold of his enormous
arms, pretending he didn't notice them in the first place.
"There you are, Niña. I didn't even feel you get on!"

Sometimes,
between two poker games, the orphans and the little refugees stuck in
the Citadel's cargo hold come to see him, and some climb on his back,
while others stare and poke at his tattoos, asking what and how and why
and did it hurt?Vega answers some of their questions, evades others, and
it usually ends up with him teaching them Spanish swear words.

Yep.

I am cross posting this to a few of the Vega threads in hopes of catching  few more people.

Not sure if anyone else has already tried this but I was wondering if we could get enough people together to Tweet or email Freddie Prinze Jr about how much we loved his portrayal of James Vega.  Maybe convince him to talk to Bioware about adding a small romance scene into the coding for one of their larger DLCs.

Thoughts?

I would love to do this! I run several Twitter accounts. How is it being run so far? Is there a plan? Anything I can help with?

I haven't actually started yet; didn't want to bother the man if this had already been done.

Through some more digging, I've discovered his Twitter account seems to be rather disused, so probably not the best option after all. No obvious facebook page, though I am NOT very savvy in that particular media site. Trying to find a fanmail address but most everything is looking like it might be out of date... *sighs*

I sent a message off to the company that is supposedly his PR firm for a confirmation on address, but we'll see.

I guess I should have followed through a bit more before posting... sorry. I'll post if I get a response on contact info for him. Perhaps you might have better luck than I have.

I don't think he has a twitter account. I'm pretty sure people tried to find one after it was revealed he'd play James.

However, I don't think Bioware is going to listen to a voice actor for advice on what they should or should not do in a game. The actors just show up and work. They don't dictate how the game goes. It would be inappropriate for Freddie to do so.

I know, I'm kinda disappointed, to be honest. No one is really banging on anything I said at all, they're just complaining about Bioware for not letting them recruit past crew members. I don't really see how that's James' fault.

Because "He took the spot of [name of favorite ME2 LI here]!!!" I hate that reason. It's so lame. He's a great character who gets flack because character X isn't in the squad. Haters just like taking their frustrations out on him.

I can't see how he took anyboday's place at all. Even if Bioware said that he did, which I don't think is true, well, they've said one thing and done another before. Their reasoning is not known to us mere mortals. Blaming it on the new guy is childish bullying.

Although I agree that there was no proper introduction for him. He's just there. It took a few missions before I warmed up to him. Looks aside, of course.

I also don't remember who said ME3 could have only 8 squad members. ME2 had like what, 10+? If anyone is to blame for that, it's Bioware.

Vega turned out much better than I thought he was going to. Wish we had more time to get to know/develop him.
