On the funnier side of things.. I think it would be absolutely hilarious, if maleShep; or James is getting "boned" by one another. Guys who exhibit their type of character (especially military, or fighters "MMA")... If they are homosexual, they tend to model whatever romantic feelings/relationship; after the way soldiers/warriors/fighters did in acient times. There was no boning each other (its also a huge turn-off to those kinds of guys, who by the way also have no problem with their sexuality), for some pretty understandable reasons (gonna keep it PG lmao). There was something else they got into. if and when things became... Intimate lol.
I honestly have no idea what you're saying.
Same here.
Can you explain, Auron?
Sure sorry.
A couple of years ago I did research on how male/male relationships were viewed in the ancient world, all cultures. It was basically for a characters I had to do for a project, and what the person wanted me to do with the characters. Learned some pretty interesting stuff, which is quite different from what we are used to seeing in media. Also learned how silly modern views of male/male relationships are- from both sides to be honest, especially after the things I had learned about guys like my friend who is in the military, and fights (MMA)- when he told me he was homosexual.
In all cultures (Greece and Rome most popular), among the warrior/soldier/fighter/gladiator society; if two men created a bond- which then later became quite affectionate, then intimate- there was absolutely positively no penetration sex between them, or as some would say today "no boning" lol. They detested this for a few reasons.
1. The ideal man was seen as one "without holes" (there was even a Greek term for it), so he was not to be peetrated.
2. They (they meaning warriors/soldiers/fighters ect) viewed it as HIGHLY degrading, humiliating. In some cultures eating your defeated enemy was seen as humiliation- being that you'd turn your defeated foes into poop lol. In some other cultures however Vikings in paticular; they would bone the last man, or men left on the battlefield. Basically it would make them feel as if they lost their warriorhood, their will to fight, and submitting to another man in all ways. No longer seen as men let alone warriors, they'd either be shunned, and ridiculed, raped again infront of the entire village, killed- or castrated... Which would really suck lol. They were often at times able to redeem themsleves.
3. Being penetrated was seen as something only for a woman, and those of low status socially; like a slave boy. If the man you had such a strong bond with, was viewed as your equal/brother; you did not and would not want him to take on the role of a female, or a slave boy.
4. They also viewed it as unclean, and also thought it feminized young men (there were perverts who e njoyed younger boys). Which would make them used to pleasing other men sexually, and they'd continue to do so into adulthood. The man who was aggressive in the act, was always seen as more manly, while the passive was not seen as a man at all, and not even a woman.
In Viking culture particually, if a man was allowing another man to penetrate him; he was seen as weak, and willing to be controlled by other men. The Persians had actually tried to feminize the Greeks in all ways, including that- so they would not have the will to fight. In Viking culture, men who more on the feminine side, or who just enjoyed being bonned by other men- would take up being a "wizard" (as they saw in their day), or "healer". It was primarily seen as a woman's thing to do, but these men faced less ridicule if they were seen as such.
As far as what these guys did do sexually. It was called "tribadism" or as people call today "frot". Some even did intercrural sex, there was even a Roman General who was straight up homosexual- who talked about that... I won't get into detail what those things were, again keeping it PG- gonna have to google that lol. But sexually, and emotionally it was seen as equal, and more masculine, with neither taking on the role of a female, or slave boy.
As far as my friend goes, he and his partner modeled their relationship quite like that. He's not ashamed of his sexuality one bit, and his family gets it, his other friends, including me who doesn't give a rat's ass who is gay lol- as long as you're a good person. He said at first he thought he was odd, because he and his partner are not into penetrative sex with each other. A lot of people are programmed into believing that if you're gay- you like getting bonned, or boning other guys- and that's simply not true. We learned that there are many other guys who feel the same exact way- not all of em are military or were fighters either. The ones howver who were involved in that world, mostly had that kind of mentality- not the negative/hostile parts, just the whole huge turn-off over being penetrated, or doing that to another guy. They also aren't too keen of the feminization of men.
