Nor is it about "perfect scores" (review systems are a joke).  It's about a) expanding the player base and b)experimentation.  Yes, EA has a mp mandate for its games.  Fine, but BioWare could have turned around and put in some bare-bones and broken versus mode like what was done in Dead Space 2.  Instead, they put in something that was the closest they could practically get to Mass Effect.

I played the MP for a couple of hours this evening. These are my impressions so far (I shouldn't need to add that this is entirely in my own opinion).

I really like it. The dynamic of having four player controlled classes works brilliantly. Even on the lowest setting it can be pretty challenging (gold challenges are very difficult). The gameplay actually works. And, above all else, its fun.

The only niggle I have is that unlocks seem to be random. You gain credits for completing the bonus objectives in the MP missions, and these can be spent on packages that provide random bonuses. These range from one-use-only self-revoves to class bonuses. The first package I got came with 12,500 experience for the human engineer (experience is also earned by just playing the MP). Weapon mods appear in these packages, but they seem pretty rare. This also seems to be how you unlock the class customization (you can only customize the basic colours until you unlock the other options) and the other species (I unlocked the Quarian engineer through one of these packages). I'm hoping in the real game we'll be able to actually choose what we buy as opposed to being forced to buy a bunch of random goodies that may end up being pretty naff.

Otherwise, I had a blast playing it and I'm rather pleased they decided to include it with the game :)

I strongly suspect that it's tied to that particular character. I don't know for certain. 

Pretty sure its a collective pool, but I was mainly playing as an Engineer so its hard to be sure.

I think there will be more packs to buy in the full game, like an unlock character pack etc. Won't know what character, but will unlock one you haven't got.

I'm enjoying it, had a blast with two other people for over an hour, challenging on bronze but as you level up, switch the mode and it will stay challenging. I love that sytem.

I also find this rewards co-op play, giving exp to assists based on the damage you do, stay near an objective to defend it and it keeps giving you exp gives incentive for people to not just run off an what not.

dude, I'm new to this multiplayer stuff, since all my friends own PC or Playstation3, I don't really have anyone to play the demo with XD.

Funny you mention that. It happened to me while playing. I was the last person alive from a 3 man team. A Centurion was coming towards me. I cryo blast him, shoot him on the head, then omni-blade stab him. So satisfyingImage IPB

Yeah I'm hoping so.

And yeah it really does encourage team-work. You can easily get nearly as many points for an assist as you do for a kill. I spent a lot of my matches hanging back and using overload on shielded enemies so the pair of vanguards on my team could charge in a demolish them.

I also found that nearly every time I tried to go in lone wolf style on Silver or Gold challenges I would die very quickly, leaving my team in a bit of a pickle. Working as a team is a must on the harder settings, and it works really well due to the different classes.

I played it for a couple of hours this evening. Even though it's a completely secondary mode, it was one of the best coop-experiences I have ever had!

I was never a MP naysayer, in fact I was looking forward to it, but man was it a blast to play.

Really addicting. The class dynamics work really well to make this a lot of fun when played with a solid group of friends.

If you managed to snag the demo over the weekend, then just boot up the game and play.  I don't even think it matters what version of BF3 you have, either.  I bought the PC BF3 and I can play 360 multiplayer just fine.

The multiplayer is pretty fun, as I expected. I can see myself playing this regularly in between sp playthroughs.

It seems you can purchase packs from the in-game store using credits earned to get random items and characters. Interesting! I think I'll like that. The random factor.

"Veteran Pack - Includes 5 random items or characters, with at least 1 uncommon or better." 20,000 Credits

Also a starter and recruit pack.

Too bad we don't actually get the credits we earn in the demo to use! x(

i hope in addons they add new things like the gears 3 one addon did. It added new support items. Maybe ME3 could have support too other than the D-pad support things
