This is a support, request and clarification topic on things that matter to PC players, simple as that, not a platform wars or any other thing.

If you are only coming here to say things like "buy an xbox instead", "stop pirating and you will get", "this was an xbox exclusive, you shouldn't even get it, so stop the whining", "why pc players think they are above the others" and so on, plz don't give your self the trouble to do it.

Since the last topic got closed because people keep going off topic and flame wars etc, heres a new one.

Older topic:
http://social.biowar...ndex/9232655/17

1) Lack of proper usage of Keyboard and Mouse:

While on ME1 had practically everything we like, ME2 decided to strip down some features, and ME3 is going on the same way.
I know ME1 PC version was done by Demiurge Studios, but still, a lot of us would like to know why this decision was made.

Examples:
No shortcuts for Options, Jornal/Quest, Squad, Codex...
Enter doesn't work at all.
Double click to buy and research doesn't work.
Scroll Whell doesn't work on scroll bars.
The default configuration is also unusual, for example on vehicles, boost is in Space instead of Shift, Jump is on E instead of Space (these one we can configure ourselves, but still...).

2) No High Textures/Only small tweaks to graphics are alllowed.

People may think a lot of things on this one, but is simple as this.
Many os us have PCs to run it, most of us already play on HD resolutions, most of us expect better visuals when playing on PC and so, the lack of this resource does make the game short to its expectations.

Many people say that the High Texture is already done, because this is the way the game is produced and the proof for that is this way is the same one found in Star Wars the Old Republic MMO, and that you guys just needed to pack it up and release it for us.
I don't know if this is true but if it is so, why is not in the main game or at least on an pack like DA2 did?

If there is a not High Texture hanging around some where, can we expect to get one at some point? Its something you guys are considering (or already consider) to do it?

3) Control Pads support.

At least for Xbox controller, i know its a minority, but there is those who prefer it.

4) Mod Tools.

This one is probablly already said why, but still, i decided to put it in here because many may think "you don't need high texture, you have modders to do it", but without some support this job is very hard, and it takes VERY long time to do something good.
-----------------------------------------

And sorry for any misspelling ;)

All valid questions, although a few were already answered. Would be nice to get a dev response. The key functions, especially, couldn't be THAT hard to implement!

Let's hope this thread doesn't devolve into childish platform bashing.

High texture pack would be great, and DA2 and Skyrim have both released High-texture packs. That alone would make me want to buy the PC version.

Lack of menu shortcuts and low-res textures were my major annoyances in ME2. It's been confirmed menu shortcuts are out, but we don't know about textures yet. I hope the demo will give us the answers.

QFT. If any of these were implemented by Bioware via patch (since the game has gone gold) or as add-on DLC (for high res) I would very much appreciate it and probably be more happy with having to deal with Origin.

Well if its not out yet then why is OP already complaining. Thats a bit premature. Does not make sense.

Because most of these questions have been answered (e.g no controller support) and the OP is trying to raise awareness of allowing these features via patches etc. since the game is now gold.

Especially things like not scrolling and shortcuts make it feel like a console port to pc :(

I seriously doubt Bioware told that

Scroll Whell doesn't work on scroll bars.

Either OP knows something we dont. Or he is simply whining before even trying. Not sure what good will bring this kind of awareness. False start!@

All of these questions comes since ME2. But i never saw an response for why it is this this way.

The demo (or the game for that matters) is not out, be we already have confirmations that it will stay that way. You may argue that the graphics may be better, but if you see the "Against All Odds" trailer, that was done on PC, you will notice that there is practically no diference from the Xbox version, and that means no High Texture.

And when asked about High Texture on ME2 years ago the answer was "but they are there", and it was not...

But i simply cant see a reason for not give us the entire keyboard & mouse functions for example.

Or he's talking about ME2.

The lack of menu shortcuts bothered me at first, but I got used to it.  Not having scroll wheel support and not being able to select menu items by double-clicking them never got any better, though.  I really hope they fixed that in ME3.

Why? Cos BioWare does not care enough to make a proper PC user interface. Simple as that. It would cost money and apparently, it is not worth the investement according to BioWare.

Did you play Deus ex 3? That was a port and it was optimized for the PC with everything pc players wanted. It was also called the best version by the devs, even though they exported the porting to another firm. I  can not fathom why bioware does not want to optimize their game for the PC?

Shouldn't the GAMEPLAY/STORY/EXPERIENCE matter more than a silly PC interface or PC graphics? Yeah it's annoying, but you have a PC, and complaining isn't going to change things. So let's all be optimistic, stop QQ'ing, and just play your game.

If you hate the interface that much, a local store will sell you an xbox and ME3.

Those are my major concerns considering they are BASIC PC features almost every game has yet ME2 didnt and hence why a lot of PC gamers call ME2 a bad port.

I truly hope that ME3 uses these and that Bioware realised the faults they made in ME2 with the lack of these basic features.

We will have a good indication tomorrow.

Shouldn't a game be a good balance between all three? And the go buy a console argument is old and tired and only results in flame wars. I have an xbox. I want to play on PC. I believe that since I choose to play on PC I should atleast be given some basic support by Bioware seeing as they are producing this for the PC as well.
All my saves are on PC, I don't see why I should have to play on the already sold out xbox360 version just to get some basic optimization for my chosen gaming system. <_<

Gameplay and controls are in the same area.

My issue with Bioware since KOTOR has been no controller support, it's unacceptable.

Yeah I can understand that, and honestly that's why I switched to console over PC awhile ago. my pc is for the interwebs, and RTS games.
But since the game just hit gold, I'd just say wait for a mod to improve such things, and I don't think PC users have access to the game yet, but Iunno.

I just know complaining just makes people feel bad and then they get angry and then starts a forum PC vs the World theard.
