Those of you who build know about Barrel of Monkeys Container Fillers which allow builders to take basic geometric shapes and swap out textures on them.  This allows all sorts of options for making walls, pools, pillars, slime balls, etc.  I personally used these to great effect with my Underwater Passage area prefab making these models into the glass walls that hold back the sea.

I am requesting a modeler (I am not one, so giving me advice of how to do this myself will fall on deaf ears) to create an extended version of this content pack.  Specifically I'm requesting versions of all these models with the polys reversed so that they show on the inside of the model.

Currently there is no model geometry on the inside of the sphere for example. So if I were to scale up the sphere and go inside, I would see nothing.  I would like someone to change this.  Doing this would allow builders to use these fillers as interior rooms, glass domes, and if new textures were added, many more uses.

Imagine the interior of the sphere with a starfield texture...or a lava dome...

I also would love it if a few new shapes were added:
  • Pyramid
  • Cone
  • Tetrahedron
  • Rhombohedron

I could use a disk too, ( set up as a creature ideally or as a visual effect and prescaled to work. ), but which you can place textures on as well just like the others ( possibly via mdb edits too ). One Goal being tensers floating disk similar to what is in NWN1, can use the code for the packmules on the vault and already have the basics of the spell set up. But then there also are other uses for something this basic - picturing wily e coyote placing a portable hole on the ground to catch road runner. Would need geometry on both sides. Also could do floating islands, lot of uses for simple stuff like that.

Brian, the current models could be used as a disc. Either the sphere flattened or one of the pillars flattened.

Can't flatten things in a SEF, need an actual disk already scaled, then i can make this work. Not sure how to make a placeable into a creature either ( i know i can scale those ) except using the SEF method.

Well I'm thinking what you are asking is beyond the scope of my request.

To use a placeable as a creature, this is one option...
placeable as a creature
I used this to create The Idol in IWD NWN2
But, yes, probably beyond the scope of the OP

Funny I was just thinking of how cool something like this would be “Container Fillers” and here it is. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this.  Thanks MokahTGS

And beyond the scope of my skills, i am working on C and C++, and nwscript, not modeling even though i'd like to figure out how to redo the converters and importers for the modeling formats eventually.

Yes it looks like it's off topic, just thought it was pretty similar to what was requested.

Mokah, I had a look at the sphere. Modifying it is not a big deal, but if you want more (i.e. other geometry) I could try, but not immediately, because I have many other projects unfinished. Send me a PM here, or at my Blog in may sig if intersted.

The sphere is of the greatest use to me, but I'm sure other shapes would be very useful when you have time.  Thanks for taking a look.

Mokah, if you want to place someone into the sphere it needs a walkmesh, and where is the best place for it ?

No, no walkmesh. The spheres are for eye candy not function. Think glass dome.

So it will be like the tents correct.

How will you look at the interior ?

If no walkmesh is needed, a sphere with both exterior and interior faces is ready. tell me where I can send it to you

If the sphere is scaled large enough and both you and your camera are inside the sphere...then you just look up ;-)

There is something I don't understand. Whatever modification I do to the sphere mesh, I have always a sphere in the toolset.

I cloned a smaller sphere with poly turned toward center ... no result
I deleted the upper part of the sphere in the mdb ... still a sphere in the toolset
I deleted the outer sphere, leaving only a sphere with poly facing toward center ... nothing change in the toolset
I then suspected the C2 or C3 meshes and reduced them to a minimum ... still no change

I am puzzled.

Try deleting the old MDB before importing the new one... ? Just an idea, not really sure wgat's going on.
