Dragon Age: Origins General Discussion (NO SPOILERS ALLOWED)

(NO SPOILERS ALLOWED)

Really, is it that hard to read?

No, the hard part is figuring out why I have the ability to post in these threads and not in the Spoilers threads.

If you can't post in the proper forum, then I suggest you solve that problem with the forum admins instead of simply posting it into the wrong forum.

I understand you are excited about the game, but please consider not spoiling the fun of others is more important than sharing your favourite quote in a revealing way.

(Gosh, I thought this game was meant to be played by mature adults.)

A characters gender is hardly a spoiler.

Revealing shales gender is a HUGE spoiler.  Not only is it part of the DLC story, it ties into the MAIN story as well! If I didnt already know this and read this thread (thread TITLE even!), I would be extrelmey diossapointed.  I shouldnt even be bumping this for fear of being labeled a hypocrite.  (Furthering the chance of spreading the spoiler.)

This thread makes me want to spoil the fact Morrigan is actually a female.

It's actually pointed out as a surprising fact in the game.  Despite the fact that the voice is female.

Since shale is voiced by a female as well I could certainly see why this is surprising.

they need to ban people who post spoilers in the general forum.... all these people that either pirated the game or were to lazy to read that they need to register their game to post in spoiler forum.

I mean come on people it is not that hard to register your stupid game!

Shale is a golem, they do not have gender.

I don't understand what the problem is.

Try registering your copy of the game with the site.

At any rate, jsut becuase you can't post in the spoiler forum doesn't mean you should post it in the non-spoiler forum. Think before you act.

Shale is neither man nor woman: it's an IT.

Nothing bugs me more these days than morons referring to Shale as ''she''.

Thank you! I'd been wondering who did the voice. She really did a great job.

Shayle was a surprise for me last night. Sure I've seen people here referring to Shale as "she" but didn't pay much attention because people say lots of things which aren't necessarily true.

As we traveled together it became apparent Shale had a feminine viewpoint, with a chain-smoking aunt's voice to try throwing us off. Still I waited until the conversation with Caradin to believe it. In retrospect, she does have nice hips and thighs lol.

Today I'm going to do her personal quest before heading off to the Landsmeet. Finally got Orzammar finished *whew*.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but if you take Shayle to Warden's Keep the three crows in the courtyard follow her around.

I don't see why. If you haven't figured it out after the first conversation with her, you're a complete moron. Or deaf.

It's seems you didn't brought her with you when doing your quest : find Branka.
Because the last boss, the golem (creator of all golems) will talk to her and tell her she was a female dwarf from a noble family and was the only woman to volunter to become a golem.

By letting her meet the creator of golems, Shale will unlock her personal quest ;)

You don't have to take her with you on the quest to find Branka. You just have to finish her personal quest, in which it is revealed that her name is Shayle.

But apart from that, you have to have the intuative abilities of a lawnmower to miss it. Both the manner of which she speaks and the voice itself are dead giveaways.

Indeed, and if you click on her About Me link you can see her picture; she is holding a cigarette in her right hand, so the smoker's voice thing might just be true.

MORE SPOILERS!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! WHY NOT POST THE WHOLE QUEST AND STORY HERE???

P.S.: In the game Shale was surprised herself, so stop making excuses about the voice or the speaking actor behind the character.

Not necessarily; I've met homosexual men who speak like that. That's why I wasn't jumping to conclusions until I found solid evidence. I never know what Bioware will put in a game like this. Assuming is bad, but in this case you were fortunate. (I would like to have seen your response if Shale turned out to be a guy.)

I didn't think Shale sounded like a woman. Then again, I am a woman, and telemarketers sometimes call me "sir".

I didn't until i finished the quest line. And now it sounded woman voice for me. I just never think of it before.
