A Sentinel and a Human Adept (with only one equipped weapon preferably a Phalanx pistol) make great support characters. There are so many Centurions and Nemesis snipers in the later waves that that Adepts often have to rely on team mates or their guns to breakdown shields before they can set up biotic combos. By having a Sentinel pair with an Adept and having the Sentinel fire Overload, followed by the Adepts Singularity, and finished with the Sentinels Warp heavily shield enemies are a piece of cake. Don't rely on the Tech Armor though, it is NOT as effective at keeping you alive as a Krogan/Turian Solider's Fortification skill.

Also...the Adept's Heavy melee actually knocks the enemy back 20 feet or so. So if you are getting pinned/chased by an enemy as an adept, use that heavy melee to knock them away from you.

Get an engineer on your team, there's nothing they can't handle!

Perfect strategy against Guardians = Combat drones behind their backs, incinerate them when they turn around to attack it then laugh as they burn!

So, what exactly qualifies you as a multiplayer expert? You have a pro record I assume? Maybe you have a GB account? Just curious...Thinking about posting on your thread, but I only. And one other question...why do you need strategy to play against bots? Bots are alot different from real players on the other side of the game.

He never claimed to be an expert. Making your question moot.

And you need strategy against bots because the bots can be difficult. If you dont know what you are doing, then you wont survive long. Alot of it can be trial and error, but tips, tricks and strategy help too since others can pick up on stuff you wouldnt have thought of, and vice versa.

This thread is meant to be a community collabaration sort of thing, and not "Here's XYZ's strategy because he's so amazing."

In the interests of full disclosure, I do have early demo access but NOT the BF3 online pass. I have completed ME1 and ME2 on Insanity multiple times, and I consider myself familiar with wave-based survival combat from Halo and Call of Duty but they are obviously quite different from Mass Effect 3.

I think I will be different and try as a Human Sentinel with a shotgun and Sub machine gun. Will try and max out the Tech Armour to see if its any good. Any Adepts doing singulairty I can create some detonations with Throw or Warp

Feel free to discuss multiplayer strategies, builds, and whatnot here.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION STRATEGY GUIDE PART - your suggestions are welcome!

<<General Strategy>>

Needs suggestions...

<<class Strategies>>

-Engineers with Overload/Incinerate work as excellent support classes, allowing other teammates to focus on damage dealing.

-Infiltrators excel at securing objectives due to tactical cloak. It's also very handy for reviving downed squadmates.

-Vanguards have excellent mobility due to Charge. This can be useful for assisting team members in trouble or quickly escaping hot zones. They also provide excellent distractions.

-Soldiers and Sentinels are the most durable classes, and excel at 'holding the line'. Staying mobile isn't as important as drawing fire away from the squishier classes.

-Adepts are the Crowd Control class. Lock down chokepoints with Bubble Stasis and Singularity, use combos on tougher enemies.

<<Enemy Strategies>>

Cerberus Enemies

Phantoms
-Can be 'locked down' by automatic weapons fire. As they keep trying to evade, others can focus on doing damage.

Guardians
-Easy methods for dealing with their shields:
--Curving throw around their shields
--Plain old Singularities or Pulls
--Sniper headshot through the view slot
--Combat Drone works as an easy distraction

Engineers
-Priority targets, as their turrets can decimate inexperienced teams.

So Soilders are Tanks "THAT HOLD THE LINE!" (<3 KIRRAHE) So I am supposed to keep fire off of everyone? I can do that...........I WILL MAKE KIRRAHE PROUD! Image IPB

Yep, I'm a Soldier in mulitplayer and all I do is pretty much tank through enemies. My Current powers are:
Adrenaline rush level 1
Frag Grenade Level 4
Alliance Training Level 5
Fitness Level 3

Additionally, I used the Assalt Rifle and Shotgun.  Enemies really get close to you in this, it pays to have a shotgun.

As a Soldier you want to give as much damage as you can take. Frag Grenades are Awesome and clear a group of enemies and knocks back enemies with a shield for a bit. Alliance Training helps me do some good Damage while Fitness keeps my health and shields up.

Don't know how useful Concussion shot is, I rarely used it for my ME2 Soldier.

Another great way of dealing with Guardians is to have an Infiltrator cloak, sneak up behind them and heavy melee from behind.

Especially effective if you cut down on the weapons and focus on power recharge. I just use a pistol, nothing else, and I've got it to the point where I can cloak, sprint behind them, heavy melee, then cloak again and be back in time for dinner. Feels kind of like being Kasumi in ME2.

WHAT?! You owe it to yourself to specc Concusion shot. You can shoot BEHIND CORNERS with it in this game. And it has sucha low cooldown that you can basicaly spam it. It's really great when enemies surprise you in close quarters, just press the button once and they fall to thier asses! Or they get knocked back a bit (I did this to Atlas Mech and then went to revive my team-mate).

Concusion shot in this game is REALLY awesome. Sure it doesn't do much damage, but it really is Soldier's most useful skill so far. Knocking enemies behind cover is so much fun.

I have to believe that the first time I see an enemy (enemies) knocked up into the air due to a biotic attack (e.g. singularity) and fire a concussive shot at them is going to be pretty awesome.  I'm guessing both for me and the person who originally fired the singularity.  #multiplayerteamwork

Okay, for Sniper Vanguards:

1 - Fire
2 - Charge (in case the enemy survives)

Playing as an Infiltrator you can Cloak to and then stealth revive and hack/use objectives without problem.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I just saw a video where a guy was hitting guardians with singularity and it didn't remove the shield. Is there a specific level it needs to reach before it's effective?

What happens when you use Adrenaline Rush in multiplayer? Does it slow everybody's game down?

Each class levels up individually, I believe.

To expand on this, if you play as a vanguard, for example, and then level up, all of your vanguard characters level up as well. Each class can have up to four characters (human male, human female, and two aliens). You assign points separately to each character, but you gain points for every character in a class if you level up as that class.

That is awesome!  So essentially you are leveling up classes and not characters.

This.  :)

No.  It's basically a damage boost.  Things that affect time and such in single player, like bringing up the ability wheel, do not function the same way in MP for technical reasons.

I'd also encourage this because ability combos can have some pretty sweet effects/bonuses.  Try it out!

I also found that curving a throw to get around their shield worked, too.

Pull seems like the easiest and most obvious solution.

I know, but I was using a human Sentinel. A well-aimed Throw is all I had access to when teammates were dealing with other enemies.

We should make a quick chat code for those who don't have microphone on Pc.
So, if you write:
1 -----> Doing Sec mission, cover me.
2 -----> Help!
3 -----> I'm going foward
4 -----> Big ass enemy here!

Something like that...
What do you think?

That would be really cool, specially if there were voice commands binded to a few F keys like BF-1942.
- Medic!
- I need backup!
- Cover me!
- Take cover!
- Fire in the hall!
- Go, go, go!

And it wouldn't even be hard to make. They already have the voices for that on ME2 enemy chatting during combat.

One of my initial observations about MP was wrong. I thought Engineers and Adepts should carry a pistol and an AR, but man once you level up your skills all you need is a handgun (preferably the Phalanx with some mods). Being able to fire a Singularity and trigger a warp bomb within seconds is probably the coolest thing in the game (at least that I have been able to do thus far).

Combine that with the fact that you can one shot everything with a well placed headshot... Best class in my opinion.
