Soldier vs Adept - Adept uses singularity, pummels soldier, adept wins. You couldn't balance it, not without pissing eveyone off because their fav class got nerfed.

Unless the adepts powers would be ******-weak vs Soldier shields. When Adept would just get shot.

True, but powers that stun would be over used, especially biotic ones.

1-they wanted it to make sense in the universe

Yep, but again if it's PVP, it's balanced to have counters. Like those powers not working well vs. shields and the biotics would have to team up with classes that can do something against shields.

You make a good point. I concede, well done :)

The main problem is that classes are unequal per definition. You cant balance a pvp match medic vs sniper using common sense.

1. That would F up the story if you were fighting the same side, because your suppose to be working together the stop the reapers not fighting each other, plus Bioware has confirmed that the Multiplayer links in with the single player.

2. Like AlphaJarnel said some classes would over power others WAYYY to much, plus when your playing PVP you get mad or frustrated sometimes, and BioWare is trying to keep a happy community ( you would think )

Hope I cleared it up :)

1: Having the one team of reapers vs the galaxy would solve all of the balance and logic issues. Not all reapers are kilometer long dreadnaughts, they do have their ground troops.

2: Balance can be adjusted. Having reapers controlled by the poayer would effectively open up another set of character classes, so the alterations to existing classes needn't be as extensive as they'd be if they were fighting each other.

Have you seen the "ground troops?"  Sure, there's Cerberus!  Not that it'd be fair to both sides (you'd have a all-human side; not huge, but it would definitely be a questionable bummer for people playing Cerberus), so there's problems with that.  As for the Reapers...Playing as a Husk/etc. sounds like a good novelty, but I doubt they'd be fun over long periods.

As for classes...That's not quite as easy as you make it sound.  First, you'd have to create these all new classes.  Then you'd have to balance ALL the classes against and with each other as necessary.  The work would actually be doubled, at the very least.

Because we don't need it.

I'm not trying to sound snotty here. I actually really like PvP shooters sometimes, like Gears (love Gears). But with SO many of those on the market, there was no way that ME3's could possibly compete. It wouldn't add anything long-term and would be a significantly tougher project than would a Horde mode (due to balancing, gametypes, matchmaking, tougher testing... etc.).

We don't even really need the current co-op creation, but that was a big point on EA's agenda. So we'll see how much it adds to the ME3 experience.

the only way, i could see it becoming pvp if a they decide to make 2 teams but these teams are permanent no way off them and would require you be a enemy to the alliance and the council as well every other race that hates you race i.e baterian{spelling} geth{not the ones that we virus ed and had them reformatted } the ones that worship the collectors/reapers, there wouldn't be really anyway to make them to a organization cant be Cerberus they only want humanity to be on top. wouldnt be the reapers they want to kill everything and the batterains are more less groups rather military holdings

so more or less the best idea would be that Cerberus/reapers be the bad guys

Because it would be fun and interesting and add a layer to the game. Not everything has to be about the story. Just having a fun PvP mode would be interesting. Heck even the current coop barely has ties to the story. You just fight hordes of NPCs and it makes a percentage meter go up. There is no mission briefing or major plotline that really creates a meaningful reason for the coop as it is.

Hmm... actually, just thinking about it. Bioware could do something similar to Left 4 Dead, and have 'monster' classes. :o

That would be fantastic.

Have eight players in a match. The four on the normal squad behave normally, but have four fill the roles of enemies. They could have a set number of lives per round, and maybe get to choose what they spawn as. You could really ramp up the difficulty if you had a human controlling the Atlas for example, or one of those giant Reaper creatures.

If anyone at Bioware reads this, it could make for a nifty DLC or something. Just saying

Now that's thinking I can get behind, like Gears of War Beast mode, except the bunkered down enemies are players.

Yep, if done correctly that could be a lot of fun. It would also add a lot of replayability to a multiplayer mode that it seems some people are already growing tired of.

Because a multiplayer game doesn't need to be PVP to be good, and the entire point of this multiplayer is "cooperation" which I know is a foreign word these days. That's why.

maybe typical good guys vs good guys wouldn't work, but what about if it was L4D versus style, with one team playing the baddies and swap?

I think that'd balance nicely.

Servers hosted by players tend to be abused. Keeping it co-operative only tends to prevent that a bit more.

Because it would be imbalanced as hell.

Even though lorewise, it could easily be circumvented by having 1 side play as Alliance and the other side as Cerberus.(with different sets of armor representing different races seeing as they're all human).

Wait a minute guys and gals: we all hate it when BioWare doesn't respond to things that need fixing, are causing issues, or just general questions. So, when a BioWare employee does comment, you ignore them? Come on guys and gals, play nice.
