Should co-op have a story of it's own like quest, bosses, or exploration rather than continues enemy waves?

Would it be more appealing to see the enviroments change around you, or just maps to keep it basic?

I mean if Bioware can do star wars the old republic online why not mass effect multiplayer?

Keep in mind this is for curiosity sake.

Nah, imagine the dev time for that. Novel idea, but if you want story, you have the main game to play, which I think was the point.

I'd like it. Uncharted's co-op is great because of that. It'd be great as DLC.

I won't deny that fact like I said it's open minded opinion, The truth is I preferred single player, however I am doing this forum because multiplayer is as unstoppable as a reaper threat in a gaming market. If so I really would like to see there is something beyond those call of duty maps or gears of war horde modes.

It has potential for future development, gives us some major goals outside surviving waves of enemies and locating critical information. Something along the lines of a linear path like in the L4D series where there's four of us surviving against the endless hordes of enemies till we reach our main objective.

Of course, considering how the game's been delayed once already and has finally hit gold, we can hope for a potential DLC in the future.

repetitive gamplay themes might end up bringing a kiss of death to the gaming industry not just concept story.

In my opinion mp is the part that could use some dlc due to the whole ending (that kills dlc interest in the single player imo) thingy

If they are going to do something like this then I think it should be like Left 4 Dead. You can play the same missions over and over again because it's different every time. Maybe Bioware could make it a little bit more story heavy though.

I always thought it'd be great to get story missions. For instance, play as Aralakh Company in the rachni mission. Everyone must be a krogan. Grunt can be an allied NPC I guess. Or maybe some turian/krogan missions where you have a mixed team of those two races fighting on Palaven. Or how about the salarian STG cleaning up the mess Cerberus left behind on Sur'Kesh? They left the next Shadow Broker loose! Must catch it!

Sadly, I very much doubt we'll ever see them put that kind of development time into MP.

I could be wrong, but isn't this BioWares first time putting MP (this large) into one of their games? I think they've done a rather good job, hopefully they will take what they've learnt from this title and bring more to the next, which I am sure they will. But for ME3, I think they'll just add more race combos, maps and weapons.

I think that would be a very interesting idea, and could reuse alot of already implemented ideas. But it would be a very large undertaking on the Devs part, and I doubt they would want to do that.

I would love to see some of the single player maps turned into MP missions.  I.e. a mission where you go from one end of the map to the other rather than just running around in a tiny space. It would change stuff up at least.
