Are all of the race unlocks in multiplayer random? Can you get them in the regular packs you buy or only in veteran?

I want my Quarian Engineer, and I dont feel like gambling my credits hoping ill get her.

Well I did get a Drell Vanguard with my first free pack. That's why I was curious if anyone knew. My character is already level 14 and there hasn't been anymore race unlocks.

I think it's throu the packs. I'm a level 14 and haven't unlocked anything, and the randoms are always human.... I want a Turian....

You're not really gambling with your creds. You'll also get handy mods and single use big guns, like the rocket launcher I used to blow the f*** out of an Atlas. Spend away!

Aren't their based on in-game SP support from races? So you would have to finish SP demo to unlock Krogan?

Why can't we use them the minute we start up MP? Because then no one would play humans?

yeah, I think eveyone would coose a different race 
because would you choose a weak small human or strong big krogan?

 It is random but the 20000 credit pack gets you a better shot. Still trying for a Krogan. I got a Phalanx though. 12 shots of rapid fire awesomeness.<3<3<3

Apparently they're not actually linked. At least it's new information!

Even if the reason is that most people wouldn't play human, whats wrong with that? I don't see why we should be forced to be a human just so we can play as the better/cooler species.

I hope it won't take forever for me to unlock Turian Sentinel.

So far on Deinonychus's stream I've seen krogan (him), humans (obviously), a salarian, a quarian and a turian. No drell or asari though.

I don't think its based on the "coolness" of the races. Each race has a different powerset so its more of a "default" set needed to introduce players to that class.

The human defaults have the basic powers you'd expect from that class. The other species have the more specialized classes. You get the classes that lack the main class feature like Singularity-less Adepts and Combat Drone-less Engineers. They needed a default that had these powers and humans are inoffensive enough to start with.

If they opened up the races from the start, you'd probably have a lot of players out there with no idea what they're doing. That's not to say a Krogan Soldier is harder to play than a Human Soldier but from the videos, it seems like someone who played single player first would have an easier time adjusting to a Human Soldier instead of jumping right into a Krogan one.

What's really bizar is the forced M/F starter of the classes. I don't like playing females online but I kinda have to play a Vanguard female if I want to play one initially. I kinda thought the '2 human' options would be available from the get-go and aliens where unlocks.

Ah well... hopefully the unlocks are 100% across your account not on a per-class/char basis. Can play something else till I get closer to what I want.
