If you owned BF3 in the past and have it tied to your EA profile, you should be able to access the demo as soon as it goes live. Those who have been playing on the 360 through the promotion on Facebook should be able to play it now [Edit: Facebook code owners still need BF3 to access multiplayer early; hope that's more clear).

Now, deals were obviously made with Microsoft and Facebook through EA to get this demo out before the general release to the public. That's just how business is, and it's good that some money came in (not sure if BioWare received much of that; more than likely EA took in most). Just because you are a fan doesn't make you entitled to anything. And the early access programs were out there; just not what fans expected nor was it advertised well.

Stupid question; I own Battlefield 3 via Origin, so I never got an 'online pass' as it wasn't retail. Given my online pass was essentially automatic, do I still get early access to the multiplayer?

So Australians on the East Coast with PC's have to wait till 5:00 a.m. Wednesday? I just don't want to know the reason why PC users have to wait 8 hours after the 360 and the PS3 6 hours after PC. :?

If you bought it from Origin, it's already tied to your EA account, thus you get early access.

Slight correction: I have the Demo now because of the facebook app, but I don't have the multiplayer yet.

Really?  I have had access all day.  You have to have BF3 though on your EA account though.

Wow you're right. I opened up the multiplayer section of the demo just now and it worked! :o
And for those people wondering, I have BF3 on PC and am playing the demo on 360.

So does that mean that if I have BF3 on PC, I don't have early access to the multiplayer on the Xbox 360?

i have the pc version and i dont have a problem logging into the multiplayer on the 360, just make sure the account you login with has the same e-maill adress as your battlelog account.

...Not positive on what you are doing.  Are you accessing the demo on 360 and can't play online, or are you trying to find the multiplayer of ME3 online through BF3 on PC?

Here are the steps to get ME3 multiplayer early:

1. Have any registered copy of BF3 tied to your EA profile.  You will need a BF3 online pass tied to your EA account if you purchased a used copy on the consoles.  Anyone who purchased a new copy of BF3 should be able to access the mp demo.  The system you own BF3 on does not matter.  It just has to be tied to the EA account you are using for the demo.

2. Download the Mass Effect 3 demo.  Right now the only demo available is through the Facebook promotional app, which has since run out of codes, and through certain employment incentive programs.  The public should start gaining access to the single-player portion of the demo tomorrow.

3. Start up the Mass Effect 3 demo and connect to your EA account

4. You should be able to access the multiplayer.  Enjoy!

Hopefully this helps everyone who is having trouble accessing the multiplayer portion.

I would assume that's a typo.  The demo should be available through the store.

Damn, PC demo comes out a few hours after I leave for classes; was hoping to get it downloading while I was gone. At least I'll always have you, BSN.

Train our cat to start the download!

I'll be sure to set my alarm for 11 AM tomorrow (Edmonton time). Pretty convenient because Calgary and Edmonton are in the same time zone (province as well).

Because Bioware forgot their roots like most major devs these days?  Bioware was born on the PC, our Baldur's Gate purchases are the only reason they survived to release Kotor on the Xbox and get on the map. So if life was fair PC would be getting it early, but life isn't fair.

Forgot there roots?! WTF .....its called modernisation, and mass effect was born on Xbox as an exclusive. If they only sold to pc users they would be out of buisness as console gamers make up the majority of gamers, I'm not being a hater its just a fact. I'm not saying I agree with delays but hay, its there choice, not yours

Fan service to people already buying the game doesnt bring in money. Making deals with Microsoft, Facebook, and GameStop does. Seriously it is going to be in everyones hands in a few days. Not like a PvP beta where being late is a bad thing.

So on PC do we have to have the Origin client installed, or can we simply download it from the website? I'm guessing the former, but better to make sure.

The former, just like the KoA:R demo, before we could also get it (the KoA:R demo, not the ME3 demo before people get their hopes up) on Steam. You don't have to have the Origin client running while playing the ME3 demo, but will for the full version.

Got BF3 back in October. Never got the "Thanks for redeeming online pass" message and I can't find the option to download the demo anywhere on origin.

BF3 doesn't get you an early download of the demo.  It gets you early access to the co-op.
