I just watched some of the demo also I recently played ME1. When Sovereign attacks Eden Prime all you can see of it are its fingers/claws reaching through the clouds, it's that huge. But none of the Reapers attacking Vancouver are anything like that size insted they are on a scale with the Collector Cruiser . I am mildly disappointed. (I am aware that Reapers come in a varity of sizes).

Dude, nitpick much? There is possibly thousands upon thousands of Reapers. Because a half hour demo didn't show one big as Sovereign you don't think there is any? Besides...the one attacking the area in the demo is probably about the same size or pretty close to it. I think in ME1 certain things had been represented larger than the are.

Sovereign might have been a special case, since he was suppose to everything by himself. Or the ones that are that big are in space holding the fleet back since Sovereign seemed to be good at that kind of thing.

Theres 2 sizes of reapers. Capital ships which are Sovereign sized, and the smaller destroyers(ones you see in thresher maw trailer and in the end of Earth demo). And the ones in the Earth demo are definately sovereign sized, they are as high as some super skyscrapers.

I said I was "mildly disapointed" no Sovereign like Reapers were attacking Vancouver, not "why are there no Sovereign like Reapers in the game".

It's a good question, OP! I don't think we have a reason as to why the Reapers are keeping their heavy machinery hidden... if there are even any more of Sovy's size. If it is true that huge population races result in huge Reapers, then perhaps it is simply that a single species covering the galaxy in a single "growing" cycle is pretty rare.

The 'main' Reapers in ME3 don't appear to be any larger or any smaller than when you see Sovereign taking off from the spaceport on Eden Prime.

skyscrapers in the future would be much taller than skyscrapers are today so you are probably using those skyscrapers as a comparision point to the reapers without realising just how big those buildings are.

Sovereign is a Dreadnought class Reaper. They aren't exactly common.

Devs have said that Sovereign and Harbinger are the Dreadnought class Reapers.Hopefully the Dreadnought sized Reapers will appear in ME3.

The new artbook says that the reapers you see on earth were designed so "they could land on planets."

It doesn't say that the big reapers can't, but it certainly implies that its not something they usually do with those sized 'ships'.

I'm pretty sure you only see Sovereign's claws in that particular scene because that particular scene has clouds, and the recorder was fairly up close anyway.

Yes i have read you're post, Am im saying that the reapers landing on earth are the same size or a few dozen meters smaller. Probably is the camera angle.

I was using the extent to which Sovereign was visable on Eden Prime versus the extent to which the Reapers are visable on Earth, also from the perspective of Shepherd size of Sovereign attacking the Citadel and the size of the Reapers attacking Earth.

Umm... those Reapers in Vancouver were Sovy-class. Those ships ARE supposed to be 2km high.

We got pretty close to sovereign in the run up the tower exterior in ME 1.  We got right under him and we were closer to him than we were any of the earth reapers.  Besides that first reaper you see on earth when you first look out the window is huge.  Same thing with the one we see land in the water.

they're capital ships they are the same size, the only reason we only saw Sovereign's claws was cause there were clouds and dust blocking the rest of him.

Because im saying that the reapers landing on earth are same size as sovy or a few dozen meters smaller.
And that sovy in me1 probably appears bigger because of the camera angle.
