Not quite. These Reapers were actually smaller.

you cannot prove that based on information that we actualy have, without an actual measurement of the distance between you and the reapers or of the actualy height of the surounding buildings or even the width of the river you have no ability to actualy judge the size of the reapers, all you can say is that they feel smaller than Soverign did, which is true, but the camera angles in the first game also deceptively make Sovereign feel bigger than he actualy is.

Camera Angles?

Put into perspective how large a geth ship is.
The Reapers on Earth were not as big as Sovereign.

I think the OP has a point. If you look at Shepard and Sovereigns "legs" when you make the run to the citadel tower in ME1. They are massive. Now look at Shepard in relation to the size of the reapers in ME3, they are not as big. Maybe it is distance or something, but one lands right near Shep in the demo. I think that puts it into perspective.

It's probably how they're going to shoehorn in an ending whereby a single person from a single race saves the galaxy from a race of machines who have been eradicating life across the galaxy every 50,000 years since time began (probably).

I guess they had to give you a chance lol as the impression I got from ME1 was that if the Reapers do make it to Citadel space then the galaxy is ******.
I mean in my eye the only logical way to end the series on a happier note would be to maybe save and hide on a planet like the Proetheans did. Otherwise wanton destruction should be the order of the day.
It took a combined fleet of species best ships and a hell of a battle to destroy one... just saying...

True indeed, and you may not be dissapointed. The reapers will be handing out asses come March 6, thats for sure. We might put a dent in them, but I suspect near destruction or we finally craft some super weapon to take them out. that is the only things I can think of that would make sense. But yeah it took the galaxy to defeat Sovereign, it will be tough for us to take out thousands of those things (or however many there are)

I'd hardly call a dozen Turian cruisers, an Asari dreadnought, and the couple dozen cruisers of the Alliance fifth fleet our best ships. That said the odds are somewhat stacked in the Reapers' favor.

THIS is what Earth needs to fight of those pesky Reapers:

It would dwarf the biggest Reapers.

Geez poeple...half of you have no sense of scale..

Do you have any idea how big the future skyscrapers are? Do you have any idea how absolutely massive a 2KM long warship would be?

We're talking about roughly 2000x500x500 = 500 000 000 m^3 volume!!!!
Most sci-fi desn't show scale well - mostly because of weird camera angels nad great distances.

Please, check this out:

Well for all we know, the finale might be fighting a huge ass reaper, much much bigger than Sovereign.

They are probably off fighting the Turians.. as they have the most martial might out of all the races, might as well send the strongest you have at them.

Ok bioware get in this thread we need some questions answered lol

It worries me that bioware has yet to provide an explanation for this issue. Pre-order canceled :D

In all seriousness, I hope they don't downgrade the reapers into simple UFOs. In the previous games, the reapers had a philosophical appeal to them. Plus, it took the entire galaxy to kill one. I hope they don't erase all that and turn me3 to "pew pew pew SPACE BUGS!!!!"

I wouldn't call the Citadel Defense Fleet and the Alliance 5th Fleet "the whole Galaxy" but it took them some ships...
Ignoring the dozens of Geth Capital Ships that were also pounding the Fleet...

People constantly ignore the massive amount of Geth ships engaged in the encounter.

Well, I'm a ps3 owner so I've only watched the comic strip intro :(

I just hope the reapers live up to the billing.

Yeah sadly and there were not as many ships lost... 20 Turian Cruisers and 8 Alliance Cruisers...
Against a Whole Geth Fleet AND the Sovereign... I would say we didn't fare as bad as some would like to paint it.

The best way to check Reaper and skyscraper sizes is to count how many floors the skyscrapers have using the windows to know where the floor is.

Well, maybe they send the smaller ones onto the planet surfaces because they can cope better in a planets atmosphere and gravity well. We know that alliance ships can only land up to frigate size. OK, granted, we know that sovereign could land as well but maybe the smaller ones are more agile or something and the big ones just stay in space.

On a related note, I'd actually like to see something like this:

The new artbook says that the reapers you see on earth were designed so "they could land on planets."

It doesn't say that the big reapers can't, but it certainly implies that its not something they usually do with those sized 'ships'.

This and the fact that in lore Soveriegn is 2km long whereas the Art Book states the smaller reapers are only 600m tall!

Dont know where the idea of only being able to see the 'fingers/claws' of
Sovereign at Eden Prime came from, you can clearly see all of him,
because he's off in the distance, exactly like the Reapers in ME3's
Vancouver.
