A dumb thread for dumb questions (and hopefully some helpful answers).

Cheez's dumb question #1: Do we get to keep the credits/gear we unlock in the MP demo for the full game, or do we have to blow credits gambling for Turian Sentinels again?
Cheez's dumb question #2: For PC voice chat, would a cheap, integrated microphone work? I've never done co-op before, so I don't know if the game will register my standard mic as input.

#1 No. I have never seen a MP demo that transfered stats/items to your full game.
#2 No idea.
Well that was helpful^_^
#1 is confirmed no.
As for #2, a bit more information would help. if it's a integrated mike for use with, a webcam (like the ones on laptops), it will not work well for voice chat.Get a headset - they're pretty cheap.
EDIT @ Slimgrin
Yes, through Origin.

Where do PC gamers access the demo? On this site or through Origin?
Through Origin although there is a "download demo" button on ME3 website.
OP, your #1 is answered in the Demo Release announcement thread. Demo will do nothing regarding the full game. Just like DA2 or any other demo. It is just a Demo. You'll start the full game from zero or with an imported char. (although I haven't the slightest about what will be imported, like items, stats, level, and it doesn't really matter, for me.)
I'm guessing that game will have a lobby of some sort where people can meet, and Origin has this friends feature too. If it does not, like NWN had and BF 1942 did not, then I don't know how to play with my friends unless they have Origin too and we add each other.

Alistair's dumb question: Why do galactic universal transelators not translate "siha" and "ardat-yakshi" into english when they apparently DO translate? (demon of the night winds or moons or whatever)
There is no direct human equivilent that will translate. Happens all the time in foreign languages. It usually means that it can be interpreted in a variety of ways, and its meaning changes depending on the user, or use.

Why does cellophane makes so much noise when you're trying to be really quiet?

If it's the one attached to, say, your laptop's screen next to the webcam, yes it will. It will sound crappy and probably pick up everything in the room, but it should be selectable as a chat input.AdmiralCheez wrote...

Less than a day and we (PC and PS3 players) get some sweet demo lovin'. Finally. 4 days to MP. Woot. Oh, dumb question:
Why does cellophane makes so much noise when you're trying to be really quiet?
When you're trying to be quiet, you're very alert and are listening intently. So the sound of the cellophane isn't any louder, you just perceive it to be because you're listening so hard.
...back on topic:
Does anyone know what time Origin content servers update so I can start downloading the demo for PC?

I can take this one. Even here on Earth in the 21st Century, there is no need to translate foreign words that have become common usage or whose translations don't have the same effect as the literal translation. Words such as chauffeur, schadenfreude, ad nauseam, deus ex machina, doppelganger, faux pas, chutzpah, karaoke, latte, and a whole lot of foods either don't have an English equivalent, or the English equivalent is more complex and requires concepts to be taught.Alistair4Ever wrote...

Knowing and using the foreign term can be easier and less confusing in the long run.
Out of character, it's a way to give a sense of alienness without having to create an entirely new language to force those poor voice actors to learn.

Do humans always wear helmets? I'd take default faces over helmets. I just... really dislike helmets. No personality whatsoever.

What you get in the demo does not carry over sorry.
I use a webcam and it works fine

If you saw a black skull helmet would that not make a different first impression on the other persons personality to you than if you saw that same person wearing a my little pony helmet? Or a green leaf helmet? Or maybe a monkey helmet? If your answer is yes, then it means helmets can have personality too.

For instance, in Gears 3, I have the option of playing as quite a number of helmeted COG, or as a Gear with a face. There could very well be other people on my team who pick the same character with the same face, but that's okay by me. It's better than a stupid helmet.
With the helmet and full body suit, I may as well be an android. Why are humans the ONLY ones putting on their helmets, anyway? Do they have social anxieties? Acne problems?

Im about 90% certain Samara said that its from an ancient Asari dialect. Thats why I assumed it wasnt translated.
****On a side note****
AdmiralCheez created this thread with a pretty specific purpose, to act as a Q&A of quick little questions from the BNS community's general knowledge of ME, and when we're lucky, a response or two from bioware. Its a good idea, can cut down on OT chatter in other threads, and I'd rather like to see it stick around for a while.
PLEASE dont threadjack it.
That means please avoid "i dont like _____", "I think ____ would be cool", "bioware ware should_____" or anything along those lines. And dont argue about Tali's face, cerberus or Kai Lengs favorite cereal.
