Multi player looks amazing from what I can tell. All kinds of videos on youtube and this mode looks like it will be a lot of fun. But I remember hearing that multi player will affect single player and vice versa. How will that work?

I am curious about this as well. If the demo is anything to go by all you do is live through 10 waves of enemies and then bug out. Maybe its tied to your level, or maybe you get credit for securing a system if you live through one of the maps?

Multiplayer affects your galactic readiness level, which indicates how prepared you are to fight the reapers. Singleplayer unlocks races for mp once you gain their loyalty.

How does "affects your galactic readiness" actualy translate to changes in the SP campaign?  Does it mean that if you win a MP match that there is a gauge in your SP game that goes up?  Does it mean if you win on, say the Noveria map, that star system will be free from Reaper control in the SP game?

I don't think BW has realised any specifics as to how the two will actually link toghether.  If someone has a link to another post or an interview that explains this I would really be interested in reading it.

Well if you don't play the multiplayer, I don't know, reapers win and shepard dies or something.

At least that's the impression I got from all of the WAAAAAAAH I DON'T WANNNNNNNA PLAY MP FOR THE BEST ENDING which came with the announcement.

And this galactic readiness gauge somehow determines how badly the reapers are going to get defeated? That seems to make things a bit too easy.

How does CO-OP tie into the SP...don't worry about it. No seriously....there is a huge battle on earth...Shepherd can't do all the fighting right? So you are part of one of the countless squads that helps in the fight against the evil bad guys...simple enough for ya?

This describes it pretty well. You are just playing another mission, just not as Shepard. If you defeat the Reapers at a certain planet, this planet could be an additional support.

That's at least how I imagine it.

The thing to remember of course is that from what we know, multiplayer will make SP easier, but isn't absolutely required. You can still curbstomp the Reapers by just sticking to SP, or you can mix it up by going MP. Your call really.

I hope so, cause I will be seriously pissed if I spend $80 on the CE only to find that I have to play MP to get the best ending. If I could play MP with a silver account I wouldn't be worried about it, but the demo says gold only. I don't own any other games that need gold and I won't buy a membership for one game.
