Just let us play as the race we want to play as, why limit it by class and then force us to play humans and unlock other races?  Whats the point of this?  I'll tell you what.

Horrible design decision that hampers player choice to attempt to cover up the utter lack of depth the multiplayer really has.  Theres such little point to the multiplayer that they had to try to give us incentives to keep playing by locking all the races.  But all this really does is make the game less fun and interesting.  Its going to drive many players away.

Also wow that level cap.  You can really only max out a single skill and almost a second one, but even if it we're two full skills thats still not enough.  Again, makes the multiplayer far less interesting and far more shallow.

I can see this game's multiplayer dying VERY fast because of all these retarded choices.  Lets go ahead and rescrict and limit all the good parts and just put emphasis on the fact that it helps your single player war assets!  Dumbdumbdumb.  Nobody is gonna care anymore after March 13th.

What a waste of time.  I hope this meaningless bullet point on the back of the box helps your sales cause it ain't gonna do anything else.

Of course not.  Still in it for the single player.  I'm just astounded at how ****ty the multiplayer is after how much time they've been marketing it.

Hello there,

I can comment on your "level cap" part, the mp level cap allows for 84 skill points (enough to fill in 4 of the 5 all the way or choose another configuration).

The rest is a matter of opinion, so I cant really offer any information other than to say that.

Can I remind everyone that this is a demo? Is there any confirmation or otherwise stating that the multiplayer represented here is, in fact, a full representation of what will be available in the final product?

I mean, I'm with the OP on a few points. But it's also fully possible that the amount of content has been slimmed considerably in order to fit it all into a 2GB demo-- which is shared with that large singleplayer demo. The Gears 3 beta had only four maps, a few weapon skins and a handful of characters, as well as only three gametypes. The final product was much, much bigger than that, and the leveling system for medals/ribbons was completely revamped.

Have you even played MP yet? Sure doesnt sound like it. Each race has different skills. If you want Nova or Singularity...youll have to play a Human Vanguard or Adept.

As far as the "depth" goes...it has WAAAYYYYY more depth then most Horde Modes. The fact you can even level your characters at all goes far beyond just about every other Horde Mode.

I dont see the MP dying out...the fact you have to wait to unlock stuff is a staple of MP games. Its called the carrot and the stick. Knowing that you have more stuff to unokc actually KEEPS people playing. Heck...i just finished playing for the night, and i had 18,000 coins and i actually debated if i wanted to play one more round to get 20,000 so i can buy another Veteran Pack.

But, if we did it as you suggest...where everything is unlocked for everyone from the start...then the MP WOULD die out sooner, since people wouldnt have stuff to unlock.

So yeah...either you havent played the MP, or you dont play MPs iin general, and arent used to how leveling and progression works.

Bold makes it sound like you've never played multiplayer before.... why do I say that? Almost EVERY single online multiplayer game has unlocks to reward you for playing. It does not drive people away, it encourages people to continue playing and give the game a chance.

Almost every single online multiplayer demo equally has a level cap too, to stop you from experiencing all the game has to offer. A demo is a taster, not the full experience.

I dont care much for the multiplayer, i mean most of my interest is playing the single player multiple times, first with my important me1+ me2 saves and then with the default saves

To OP:
1.As mentioned this is a demo. Alot of things have been cut out of it due to requirements.

2. Also you obviously have never played games like Assassin's Creed Brother hood's/Revelations' multiplayer have you? If you hate unlocking stuff I guess that kind of game would drive you insane and yet it is considered one of the best/original multiplayer out there.

3. Multiplayer is there to give out more choices for those who want to obtain the best ending possible but without having to do side quest missions.

4. Its completely optional. No one is forcing you to play it. Don't like it don't play it. Pretend it never existed.

5. Again Demo.

It's fantastic. I keep playing just to get ONE MORE pack, because I'm hoping the Krogan Soldier will finally be in this one. Which of course, it never is. They hook you, just like a casino.

I think every point the OP made has been addressed:

1. It takes two or three good games to start unlocking races, not long at all.
2. If you want particular powers, you'll have to play some different races anyway.
3. There's enough points to max FOUR of your character's skills.
4. As mentioned before, the depth of customization, and even the slight variations in "narrative" during the mission make it a deeper MP experience than most games out there.

Out of curiosity, what were you expecting to be different, aside from being able to choose your favorite race from the start (something I'd have liked, but doesn't seem the least bit unattainable as is)?

Yeah, and all the variations of it too, precancelled order anyone? Anyway, let's get back to the OP's whining. (is a joke, let's just bury this ancient thread)

I never thought "pre-order cancelled" was funny to be honest. It's certainly more fun to hear than crappy jokes about the ME3 endings though.
