 I've bought about 6 packages, 1 Veteran, 6 Recruit and I didn't get a single character unlock.

Try saving up and buy more Veteran packages instead or Recruit ones. I guess you have just been unlucky so far.

Veteran packs have much higher chance of unlocking characters. Save your creds for veteran packs instead of spending on recruits.

Yeah, if you read the descriptions...you only have a "Small chance" of getting an uncommon item (gun, character, etc) from the recruit unlocks.

save up for the vet where youre guaranteed to get SOMETHING. Might not be a character, but it will still be something cool. And if you can make it through all 10 waves, you should be able to afford a Vet pack every match or close to it.

I did my 12th Veteran pack and still no character. One of my friends got it on his first, and the other on his 4th or 5th... All about luck, I guess.

Yep, its just plain dumb luck.  I have purchased about 10 veteran packages and around 8 recurit packages and I unlocked the Krogan Soldier and a Turian Sentinel.  I also unlocked the Mattock, Phalanx, Tempest, Scimitar, and about 8 weapon mods.  Its all random.  I really want a Drell Adept, but I am not complaining.  The game wants you to keep playing so you can unlock more stuff.  

Its kind of like that derpy facebook app I had to fool around with to unlock the demo early.  Just plain luck was all that allowed me to unlock the code.

It took for my 8th Veteran pack to finally get a character, a Drell Vanguard. And I'm fine with that! Than randomness is fun and makes me keep coming back.

I've got only Krogan Soldier.

I wanted human male Vanguard.They should give player the choice what to unlock.

It'd be nice if you could buy specific characters rather than having it luck-based. At the very least make a "Character Pack" that gives you a random character instead of lumping it in with the veteran pack.

It should definitely be easier to get new characters.
I don't want to choose which to unlock, this would just end in unlocking my 2 favorite characters and that's it, but there should be a character pack, or unlocks with certain levels.

A friend of mine got a freaking Krogan on his FREE pack, I was like wow...... lol

Yes it should be easier, I don't wanna play as a human.

I've bought atleast 10 veteran packages and 20-25 recruit.
I haven't unlocked ONE different race.

Maybe after a certain number of packages if you don't unlock a new character one should happen automatically (at random)? Say after 8-10 veteran packages?

I've only unlocked a Krogan Soldier. I want to get a Turian soldier or Asari Vanguard/adept.

No it's pretty fast actually. You'll level at least once every game.... that you finish

I'd love to be able to buy characters, but make them like 50k credits.

So that way, the Veteran Pack COULD get you a character for 20k credits, but do you just want to save up and buy that character?

Hah. HAHA. I sat there for hours farming silver. I had 300k credits, wanting to unlock something. Anything. All I got the entire time was Tempest level ups, Scimitar Level ups, Player cards for people I already had max rank, or useless attachmennts. I put up alot of crap with some of the glitches in this game, but when I am missing out on weapons because of a crappy luck system that gives my brother everything but limits me to the default loadout after days of playing, I am about ready to uninstall.

That's because you need more vets. I have Turian sentinel with all customization except for lights and skin, along with an Asari and a salarian. My starter pack unlock was a quarian. Get with good people, play silver, and you'll be able to purchase 2 veteran packs per full match.

Luck based systems are by definition NOT fair. That's why they're "luck" based, i.e. you need to be lucky.

That said, I also support unlocking characters in a more obvious way, or at least so you can be guaranteed you unlock one of them at least every so often.

I've bought tons of both packs and have only unlocked a Krogan Soldier (first day) and Asari Adept (last night). It's hard to unlock them with what we have. However, they did say that there would be more packs to buy with better odds to unlock them in the full release.
