Lights in Cutscenes?

Been helping my buddy work on a cutscene.. and now that we've spent a week on it, with 20+ lines of dialogue and 15+ cameras... everything is dark! except for the characters of course. I have tried to place lights, but they just dont seem to work right. Can someone out there gimme some pointers?

Wowie zowie, 15 cameras. I usually only have about 3 or 4 at most and I just move them around during the cutscene when one of the other cameras is the 'active' camera.
