Hmm.
Oddly this reminds me of the reason I stopped playing SWTOR, in which your PvP gear depends on your luck.

The starter pack came with a viper, plus a mantis upgrade in the rookie pack I bought after that. Probably sticking to veteran ones for a while from here on.

Well, I always did like the sniper rifle in ME2, I suppose.

I just buy 1 Veteran for every 3 Recruit, so I can keep my consumables stocked up. Probably going to tune that down to 2-1 I got like 30 Ammo packs and 20 of all the others.

I eventually got a Drell Vanguard.
Which is pretty much useless, to me.

Last night I got a Vet Pack and the last card was gold trimmed with a level 14 Asari Adept with 50k XP worth and 3 of the 6 character customizations unlocked(i think its 6)... 39 pts to level up with right off the bat was nice, and an Adept on top of it!!!

Don't know if the Gold trim is special or not but it seems like it because all of my other characters, (Drell Vangaurd, Human Male and Female Adepts/Sentinels/Vangaurds/Adepts) came with the normal blue trim.

As for Weapon Upgrades: love the pistol and assualt rifle scope! I turned standard guns into sniper rifles with better fire rates!

I love the Turian Sentinel, it's like his damage dealt with an Assault Rifle is higher than a human.

I think a few tweaks in relation to the probability of getting a random character should be done. It seems very few characters are given even in the vet packs - it just seems like pure pot luck. My bro got a Krogan Soldier with 50K XP in his bloody starter pack while all I got was a scimitar shotgun. Would be nice to see that the 20K credits I spend would be worth it rather then having a similar chance if I buy four Recruit packs.

My first couple of Veterans netted me a Mattock, some mods, and a Phalanx. Good unlocks for an upgraded Engineer.
Then every Veteran I unboxed afterwards had a Tempest...
